20) Time Is Unstoppable

Life is precious, it's a way to express who you are, to express the nature of the world. It's so crazy that we live in a world of technology and love.

Though we may not have all the time in the world we all have each other, the possibilities we can do without limits and how much we can change the world for good.

However, it always come with time. Time sometimes prevents you from achieving something or doing what you want, but especially being with others.

Although it maybe scary at first, but we have to appreciate and spend time with others as they helped us through.

You're not the one who's waiting for the world; the world is waiting for you. Don't be afraid to do what's right and to achieve what you want to achieve.

I say that time always starts when newborns are born, when plants start to grow and when the world goes around, because time is unstoppable.

Time may be ticking, but we keep living.

"Dahyun...?"

The voice echoed as my eyes started to adjust, I was staring at a light that was bright enough to blind my vision.
I placed my hands the blanket and realised... this isn't my bed.
This isn't my room.
Oh no... I'm back in the hospital!

I frantically scanned the room, I saw a few people, but they were blurs to me.
I shouted at the top of my lungs desperately calling for help!
Momo needs my help!

"Dahyun! Calm down, you're safe now." I was reassured, her voice sounded like Chaeyoung's.
When my eyes focused on the person's face, surely enough it was her and my other friends.
"W-What happened?" I asked as I stopped to thoroughly read everyone's faces, they didn't look too happy.

"You and Momo got hit by a car." Jeongyeon answered.
"Momo! Is she okay?!" I sat up too fast causing a sharp pain in my head.
"Slow down. We have no idea about her condition, you were the first one to be operated on." Jihyo said as she held my hand, with her eyes she looked sad.
"Both of you were injured very badly."

Wait! What about the time?
Mrs Hirai... she said that it will all go back to normal if I just stayed with Momo.
Remember! What did I say to her before the crash.

"I don't want you to die." She pleaded.
"Hey, my time with you was never a waste. At least I'll die with you in my mind."

Then the crash happened.
I didn't intend a crash, I didn't know I would 'die' at that moment, well— at least having a near death experience again.
It can't be a coincidence, but like Mrs Hirai said.
She needed to be saved.
That crash happened because of me, I was always the cause of Momo's accidents.
I...No...S-She can't be.
I tried to save her! I did what I could!

She must be alive, I'm the one who's suppose to be at their death clock. I was prepared to die for her.
Yet I caused all of this, thinking I was a hero. Now she may be gone because of my stupid incompetence!
Only if I listened, only if I understood, only if I could see what would happen if this situation never happened...

I'm sorry.

There was a knock on the door, the girls faced in the general direction as the doctor came in.
"You're awake, that's good. Your vitals seem fine, but we have to check up on you and keep you in the hospital for a couple of days again." The doctor spoke.
"What about Momo?" I asked, gripping even tighter onto Jihyo's hand.

I was prepared for what he was going to say, everyone was. They were worried, I could read it on their faces as soon as I woke up. I've never seen them this distressed.
"She's doing fine."

A sense of relief overcame us as all of us were thankful she is still alive.
She's still alive. Thank goodness!
"Can we visit her?" Sana jumped in.
"We'll have her come visit you, though she will be in a wheelchair since the impact of the crash fractured her left leg." The doctor explained further on, "You're lucky you didn't suffer anymore injuries other than your head."

"It's because she's thick skulled." Tzuyu joked as the rest laughed.
Rude, but funny.

We waited for a while and the same doctor came in and everyone's eyes lit up in the room. As they all started to hug the injured girl, carefully of course, and sighed in relief.
I just sat and watched as smiles grew on their faces especially Momo just when she was looking at me.

"I'll let you girls be." The doctor closed the door behind them.
The girls started to chatter loudly, I contributed a couple of times, but it was always cut off by someone else usually Jeongyeon.
I was happy that everyone was okay. Happy that she was alive.

"We're gonna leave you two alone for a while." Nayeon said as she pulled Jeongyeon's arm and gestured the other girls. They followed her discreetly and understood what Nayeon was trying to do.
It was quite obvious on what she was doing.

The room became quiet and both Momo and I were in awkward silence.
I tried to say something, but ended up stumbling and staring intently at her.
"I-I'm sorry." I nervously chuckled, she smiled and rolled her wheelchair next to my bed.
"I'm glad you're still alive." Momo placed her hand in mine.

Suddenly, I bursted into tears. The fact she was here holding me once again gave me such joy. As tears filled my vision, I felt her warm embrace, I assumed she tried her hardest to lean over towards me as she was sitting.
"When I saw your time hit zero, I thought that I would lose you. It's a miracle." Her soft voice calmed me, it took me a while to respond, but she kept me in her arms.

"Then... is everything gone back to normal?" I asked trying not to pour my eyes out again.
"I think it has." She paused, "Your time is counting down normally."
"Are you not going to leave?" I wanted her to stay with me.
Momo shook her head and lightly smiled.
"I was planning to leave at the end of the week just so you can live your life without worrying about me."

"That didn't work, did it?" I joked and forced myself to stop laughing.
"I wanted you to live." She said with a serious tone.
"I know..." I continued, "But I wanted to spend my time with you."

Speaking of which, something came to me as I was saying that. The note that Mina gave to me from Momo.
She wrote my time at the back, I wondered what it was.
"By the way, what was my time?"
"Oh... right. 2972:23:45:31. That's what I remember."

I looked at her confused.
Momo smiled, "That's about 57 years."
"Well if we'd go back, 57 years is just enough to do this." I cheekily smiled and forced myself to go straight for a kiss.
We didn't keep like this for that long—well I didn't think it was that long.
When the both of us got discharged, Momo was still in a wheelchair. Hopefully in a few weeks or months she would heal.

These past few months seemed so fast. I could vividly remember how me and Momo first met, it may be quite awkward, but my heart was set for her.

Now we're living our lives and as for the others, they were happy together and more as friends (and couples).

Just someday, maybe I'll propose to Momo or vice versa.
