18) You're Mine

Confront... face-to-face. That's what my mother said. It's easy to say, but hard to do, right now I'm doubting to either stay at home or go to school. Deep down I would love to go to Momo despite all that happened and talk to her. I want to be with her until I die, but another part of me wants to cower away.
Maybe I should take her word to not see her...
No!

I'm not scared of death!
I'm just scared... of losing.
To everyone I knew, the friends that I grew up with, to my family who supported me and my girlfriend who always cares about me. All of it will be lost.

A silent vibration was heard, I sat up from my bed and grabbed my phone on my desk. It was from Chaeyoung.
"Hello?"
"Hey, you're finally up. We're waiting outside, don't worry I won't hassle you to get up." Chaeyoung chuckled.
"I'll be down." I guess that's the cue for me to go to school.

When I got outside, I was surprised. It wasn't just Tzuyu and Chaeyoung, but my friends.
Sana, Mina, Jihyo, Jeongyeon and Nayeon, yet no Momo.
"You're all here?" I raised my voice.
"It's like almost summer break, why not spend time with each other." Jihyo, with so much enthusiasm, smiled.
I glanced over to each one of them.
Jeongyeon and Nayeon were together, Sana and Tzuyu were holding hands, Mina and Chaeyoung were hugging each other.
I was kind of jealous.

"Would it be better if I held your hand on the way to school?" Jihyo had a devilish smile on her face.
I looked at her weirdly, "No thanks, I'm already taken...probably?"
I questioned myself.
"Well I am too." She said.
"Hold up! You're taken?!"

For the rest of our way there I tried to get Jihyo's secret out. Apparently she's been taken, by who?
"I'm still not saying."
This girl is a tease, whatever we arrived at the school gates when Mina pulled me back behind the group.
"Here." She gave me an umbrella, the same one that I gave to Momo. My favourite one.
"What's this, I told her to keep it."
"She wanted to give it back to you with this as well." Mina handed me a note.

"I'm trapped in a labyrinth of strange emotions, I don't know what to do. But I'll give my appreciation.
Thank you, Dahyun for you did for me. I know that if I came near you, your time will drain.
That's why I wrote you this note, so that it's easier to say I still love you.
That time when we were talking on the phone wasn't the best, it was awkward.
I was awkward.
So please, don't think that I like doing this. I want it to be back the way it was.
I will find a way to put an end to this situation."

Just under the message she wrote a post script.

"When I was writing this I still kept count of your time, you can see it on the back of this note."

I had a moment to think.
Will I be disheartened?
Scared?
I... don't know.
"What are you going to do?" Mina asked, knowing I was stuck.
I took a deep breath and gave it back to her.
"I don't need to know my time."
Mina nodded, she placed the note back in her pocket.
We both continued to walk into the school grounds, I noticed someone in the distance standing and staring. That's when I knew, it was Momo.

I saw her arm gradually moving upwards just to wave. At the same time, I smiled and waved back to her.
She turned away and walked off.

I felt relieved, it may have been Momo. When it was coming to my last lesson Sana came up to me and we stood aside.
"What's up?" I asked.
"It's almost the summer break, we decided to go out today." She replied.
"Will Momo be there?" It was a stupid question to ask, she'll either be there with a huge distance or not taking part.
"She will, but if you aren't near her."
My eyes widened and my pulse began to race, she's coming?!
"Are you okay?" Sana asked.
"Yes! I'm just excited."

I kept my distance from the back and the other side of the road. I was with Jihyo who kept me company. The others went off with their girlfriends, it's fine since I can pester Jihyo more. I noticed that Momo kept looking at her wrist, knowing that she was checking her time to see if I was close.

It seemed like a long time, but we finally got to the city centre, we got to a food stall whilst everyone sat on one table, me and Jihyo sat on the other table which was far away from theirs.
They kept waving to us and smiling in our direction, though I didn't pay attention to them, only Momo.
She seemed happy, that's all I need to see.

I took my phone out of pocket and called Momo, she picked up instantly.
"Hey, why are you calling?"
"I just want to."
I heard her laugh.
"Plus I missed talking to you."
"Same, anyways I'm sorry... for how I acted when you called me." She sighed.
"It's okay, I get why." I looked over to Momo who faintly smiled.
"I just don't want to lose you, not again."

I watched as the girls on her table started to get up from the table and walked to the garbage bin. There. That's the moment when everything felt different, I sensed something... something unusual.
When I looked up, I saw a plank. A wood plank falling!
H-How did it get there?
What is happening?!

I have to do something...
I have to save her.

In an instant everything happened so quick, yet I knew everything that's was going on.

I ran and I ran towards her, it was getting closer to the ground. Just let me save her!
This curse! Whatever it is! Let me save her again.

My eyes were set onto Momo, nothing else.
Quickly!
Get to her! Save her!
