Crystal's POV~

"10"

My heart pounded as Rose counted down.

"9"

I tightened the straps on my bag.

"8"

Tina quickly passed me a blue potion to cover my scent.

"7"

I gulped it down quickly.

"6"

One last round of hugs.

"5"

Shakeing out my stiff muscles.

"4"

Tight lipped smiles.

"3"

I mouthed thank you, not trusting my voice.

"2"

My body reacted, ready to spring.

"1"

Power dips shutting us in darkness.

"0"

I spring through the dark, into the escape tunnel.

Not even a second later a metallic clang shakes me to my core. It's echoes sound down the tunnel signaling I'm on my own now.

Auxiliary lightning sparked to life around me revealing the small corridor around me.

I quickly blocked off my thoughts and emotions from the pack as I sprinted down the corridor. The last thing I need is for my escape plan to be foiled before it has even fully started. Blindly, I followed the twists and turns feeling myself stray farther and farther from the pack house. Soon the familial feeling fades to the background signaling the end of the tunnel.

'Just a few more feet and then we can track down that Alpha of yours and rip him a new one!' Kai chuckled darkly trying to lift my spirits.

I smirked and bolted out into the clearing. I looked back at where I just ran out from but it looked like any other normal boulder. Out of curiosity I walked back and placed my hand on it. Solid as a boulder should be.

'It must be enchanted.' Kai commented.

'Which means there is absolutely no turning around now.' I replied as I slipped my backpack off before shifting.

A few loud cracks later and Kai was stretching out his sore muscles against the dew covered grass. He practically purred as he stood back up and shook out his fur before scooping up my pack and taking off to the northern border.

'Rest little Alpha' Kai commanded, 'I'll get us there.'

I just nodded weakly internally and curled up in a ball in the back off my mind, trusting him fully.

After about an hour or so of resting I feel my consciousness get yanked forcefully back to the surface as a searing pain rakes my back.

Kai quickly dives out of the way and runs off course like something provoked him to run the opposite direction.

That's when I notice the sound of gun shots.

'Kai what's going on?' I cry frantically.

'Hunters.' Is all he replied as he starts to zigzag trying to throw our pursuers off our trail.

'WHAT!' I scream back. This is terrible, if they are werewolf hunters they could kill us out here and no one would know.

'They aren't werewolf hunters, just normal hunters and we are in the wrong place at the wrong time.'

'How can you be sure?'

'Werewolf hunters are pros they only shoot with silver bullets even if it isn't something supernatural, if that bullet was silver even if it was just a graze we'd be paralyzed in pain right now.' Kai replied as he slowed down into the thick brush before shifting back without giving me warning. Thankfully the clothes Nat gave me were enchanted. 'Quick grab your bag and climb that tree I've only bought us a few minutes.'

I didn't need to be told twice. I threw it over one arm and scaled the tree in record time. Thinking quickly I tucked myself in between two branches making sure I was secure enough to not fall.

Not even two minutes later two people stepped into the clearing clad in camo outfits. The large male wielded a shotgun while a slime female had a white knuckled grip on a compound bow.

"I swore it ran through here." The male grunted in frustration.

"What did you even shoot at 'Lijah?" The girl questioned shivering as the wind howled.

"It was a wolf Maddie, I swear it. Ti was the biggest wolf I'd ever seen!" The male, 'Lijah claimed.

"Yeah right, you're just trying to scare me. Let's just head back home, we've been out for hours." The young brunette claimed as she pulled the male out of the brush, back the way they came from.

Oh thank the moon goddess! I cheered in my head as I stealthily slunk down from my perch.

'That was close,' I whispered to Kai. 'That means we will have to veer off course."

'It's will be ok!' Kai reassured. 'I hope.'
