Journey liked her bus. Strange to say, but she did. It was actually really peaceful and calm. Though it may just be her because she usually drowns out everyone by listening to music while reading her book. As the bus made its way to her house, Journey saw something that she wasn't expecting to see. Her mother's car was in the front and there was another black vehicle right beside it. Journey's stomach dropped as she got a terrible feeling. When her bus finally came to a stop she got off and carefully examined the unknown vehicle in her driveway. "Who was it?" Journey wondered as she entered her house calling out to her mother.
"Mom? Hello? You home?" Journey asked the seemingly empty house. Why was her mom home? Her mom is never home this early not even on holidays.
"Yes Journey. In here sweetheart! Come here please!" Her mother yelled from the Kitchen. Journey's stomach started to cringe more as she made her way to the kitchen.
"Hey mom. What are you doing home? Also I saw a black car out...?" Journey stopped her sentence after she seen two guys in nice fancy suits sitting at her kitchen table with black shades on. They looked like those stereotypical FBI agents except they were buff and hella intimidating. "W-what's going on?" Journey stumbled as she asked the question.
"Sweetheart, these men are here to talk to you about something very important. Just sit," Her mother said followed by a sigh and look of hurt. Journey took a seat at her kitchen table in front of the two mysterious men.
"Good day Journey. Ma'am, if you don't mind, may we talk to her alone?" The man asked. The mother just nodded her head and went outside leaving Journey and the men to sit alone in awkward silence. All Journey could think about was how she knew something wasn't right about today. The man noticed Journey's confusion and dug into his briefcase pulling out a white envelope with bold words printed on it.
The Envelope said For Journey only. No one else.
"Go ahead, read it. Read it carefully though. We have come an extremely long distance to give you this." Journey nodded as her hands were shaking. She was scared to open it. "What possibly could be so important? Who was it from? Just what the hell is going on?" Is all she could think about. With her hands shaking, she carefully and neatly opened the envelope. Inside, it contained a letter addressed to Journey. Journey took a quick peek at the letter and glanced back up at the men before she began reading it.
Dear Journey,
I know this may come to you as shocking at first, but please try to understand the importance of this. You are about to have everything in your life change and I need you to cooperate. I realize this all sounds sketchy, but I sent the men in front of you early so they could explain everything to your mother before you arrived home. You must travel here to Miami, Florida and I can explain everything better to you. I am unable to go into grave detail in this letter because of the possibility of it falling in the wrong hands. For now Journey, you should be, I believe, around 16-17 years of age. We have been looking for you for many years. Just waiting for the right time to come in contact with you. We need your help to save us and many others. We fear that you are the only one who can get everything back into order. You are something extremely special my dear. You hold something inside of you that you may not even realize. For I can not tell you what makes you so special in this, but I promise I'll tell you in person. Journey, you are in grave danger where you are and so is the rest of mankind. That is why you must come here to be trained and protected. You must learn how to use the strength that is hidden within you. I will be sending you to a private location in Miami. I understand this must be hard for you as you must have friends and family you are leaving behind. That is why I am allowing you to leave tomorrow instead of tonight. I want you to say goodbye to all of your friends and family. You are allowed to keep in contact with two of your friends and your mother. I am so sorry for not being able to tell you this in person. Telling you this way is much better than risking my travel and leading people to you. Now, I sent two men to bring you here and they have two gifts for you to give to your two friends. You must pack as lightly as possible. We will have all your necessary essentials here. This is a government situation. I know this is hard, but we must protect you until you are okay on your own. Please understand and cooperate. I promise I will give you a much better explanation once you arrive.
Sincerely,
Charles S. White
