Steven awoke to a warm ray of sunshine hitting his face and the familiar sound of vinyl drifting through Eileen's picture perfect bedroom.
"Morning sleepyhead."
She chirped from her place by the vanity where she was applying a rosy blush to her cheeks. Hyde groaned rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
"What time is it?"
"11:20."
She replied standing up and looping her belt through her pants.
"Come on, let's go make breakfast."
"Isn't your dad home?"
"Nah, he works Sundays."
"Who works Sundays? Isn't everyone supposed to be at church?"
"Not my daddy, you couldn't tear him away from the firm if you tired."
She laughed pulling on thick woolly socks. Steven sat for a moment, not moving.
"Come on."
Eileen rolled her eyes, grabbing his hand and pulling him up.
The two teens bounded down the stairs, into the lavish kitchen that was so spotless Hyde was sure Kitty Foreman would have cried.
"What do you want?"
She asked, sliding with her socks on the linoleum over to the fridge.
"U-uh, I don't know what do you—"
"Does toaster waffles sound good? I'm feeling lazy."
"Yes of course."
Eileen grinned, pulling out a box from the ice box and popping four frozen waffles into the toaster while pulling out the blueberry syrup from the cupboard.
"Wanna eat in front of the tv?"
She asked as the waffles pop and she quickly buttered them before they got to cold. Steven nodded, following her into an equally fancy living room.
They sat down on the springy orange sofa, quickly digging into their food.
"So what does your dad do?"
Steven wondered aloud. Eileen spoke through a bite of waffle.
"He and my mom started this law firm in Chicago called Firkus and Kline-my mums maiden name. They are both very business oriented people but thought it important for me to grow up in a small town around our extended family, so they alternate months in Chicago, one stays in our apartment there and one stays here with me and takes the hour drive up there everyday, in the summer we all stay up there."
Steven furrowed his eyebrows,
"But why go to all that trouble- I mean your great and it would like, totally blow if you left point place but why don't you all just move up to Chicago."
Eileen shrugged,
"I don't know, I think they are just to proud to admit they both want a divorce. This way they can stay together but not spend any time together."
"Makes sense I guess."
Eileen just shrugged,
"Wanna watch tv?"
"What will be on at this hour?"
"I have m.a.s.h. Recorded on the box."
"Okay."
Eileen got comfortable, laying her head in Stevens lap as Alan Alda's voice crackled through the speaker. He looked down at her smiling and brushed the curled hair off of her freckled cheeks. He was not paying attention to Hawkeye Pierce or any of the other members of the 4077th mobile army. He was instead appreciating the way her blonde baby hairs curled over her cheek bones and how the dimple by her eyebrow appeared whenever she laughed, he was not paying attention to Radar O'Reilly or B.J Hunnicutt, he was looking at her- and for that he felt like a complete and utter loser.Later that evening Hyde stepped into the Foreman's basement to see Donna, Foreman, Kelso and Fez lounging on the beat up sofa.
"Where have you been?"
Eric asked quizzically,
"No where."
Hyde shrugged suspiciously,
"Yeah, hey- I barely saw you like at all at Donna's party."
Kelso began, his usual confused furrowed brow smile on his face. Donna smirked,
"I think I might have some idea of where our little Hyde might have been."
"You know nothing."
Hyde scoffed crossing his arms, Donna closed her magazine.
"Hyde, I literally saw you guys."
Hyde's eyes widened. He had forgotten all about Donna walking in on Eileen and him, truth be told he wasn't planning on telling his friends he had spent the day wrapped in a pink fuzzy blanket with his feet in a epsom salt bath as he watched re-runs of M.A.S.H with a blonde cheerleader who was also best friends with a girl he despised like no other. Because Hyde wasn't an idiot and no pretty girl was worth that much ridicule from his friends.
"Who, who Donna who!"
Kelso, Fez and Eric shouted,
"There's no point in trying to hide it Hyde, I saw you acting all 'cutesy' with that cheerleader-Jackie's friend, oh what was her name, Elise?"
"Eileen."
Hyde muttered flopping down in his chair,
"And shut up."
He added. Donna just smirked whilst his other idiot friends laughed.
"Oh yes she is a very pretty girl."
Fez started,
"What I would do to sink my—"
"HYDE LIKES A GIRL, HYDE LIKES A GIRL."
Eric shouted jumping up, Kelso immediately joining him,
"Shut up you dick holes I do not."
He protested, punching Kelso in the nuts as he passed by, Kelso immediately fell to the floor and Hyde stood up, first clenched as if to chase after Eric. Eric immediately stopped his chanting.
"You make a fair point."
He raised his hands and sat back down on the couch beside Donna
"Good."
Hyde spoke,
"Because I do not like a girl, especially Eileen Firkus."
