Everytime I think or write about All Time Low, I always think of AllTimeNutella! So that's why it's dedicated to her. (:

Prologue

“Why are you staring at me like that?” Nicole asked. I let out a soft chuckle before taking a sip of my wine.

“No reason,” I said. Nicole let out a big grin, looking down on the ground. Nicole and I were sitting on her black and white tiled kitchen floor. I remember she bought this house a year ago. She loved the house because of the tiled floor.

“Why are you smiling like that?” I asked, a smile creeping up on my face.

“You’re just too cute,” she said. I leaned in for a kiss but got interrupted by her cell phone ringing. She got up from the kitchen floor and walked toward the kitchen counter where her ringing phone was lying.

“Hello?” she said into the phone. I sighed and sipped my wine. Nicole and I are best friends. Nothing more. But to me, I wanted to be more than friends. I’ve always liked Nicole since we met when I was seventeen years old. If I asked her out, it’ll risk our friendship. And I know she wants to be more than friends too but with her busy college schedule and me being on tour, we probably won’t be able to see each other that much. Right now, this is probably the only time I have off. The guys and I are on our tour and we stopped in our hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. We’ve been here for about a week but our show is tonight. Nicole lives here so I decided to drop by. So far Nicole and I have spent all week together.

Last night we decided to go out and have some fun. We went to a club. We danced and drank the night away. I remember laughing at all the douche bag guys try to get some of the girls’ numbers. And some were even chasing their wives around the club. I remember I drank too much and Nicole driving me home.

“Ugh Alex, you reek of alcohol,” I heard Nicole say. She had her arm slung over my shoulder helping me walk to her car. “I’m driving you home.”

She ended up driving me to my little house in Baltimore I rarely lived in. I barely remember buying the house.

When we arrived at my house, I slept for about a few minutes until I felt a little bit better.

“You know I think you should stay the night,” I said. She giggled and shook her head.

“I can’t Alex. I have finals tomorrow I have to study for.”

“You can study here.”

She bit her lip and started playing with her hands. “You sure?”

“Yes, here,” I handed her one of my clean tshirts I found in my drawer. “Put this on.”

I turned around so she can strip off her top she had on and slip on my top that I offered her. I felt hands wrap around my waist and her head on my back. She can barely reach my shoulder. I’d always teased her for being so short.

“Thanks Alex,” she mumbled against my back.

I chuckled and slightly smiled. “For what?”

“For being my best friend.”

And that’s when my smile faded. That’s all we could ever be. Just best friends.

“Alex?” Nicole said my name and I snapped out of my daydream.

“Yeah?” I looked up at her with a smile on my face.
