Three years it's been three years since they last saw each other, and Shindou had learned to accept the fact that he won't ever be seeing his beloved again.
It was in a moment of anger that they both came to realize that the other reciprocated their feelings.
They were yelling at one another. It was the first time anyone had ever heard Shindou swear but in the heat of the moment Ibuki couldn't bring himself to care; or feel surprised for that matter.
Ibuki's fist swung aiming for Shindou's face, Shindou barely managed to dodge though his face collided with something worse, or rather than his face you could say lips. Their lips collided and Shindou couldn't bring himself to hate it; unknown to him nor could Ibuki.
One moment they were fighting, and the next they were at each other's throats. Literally this time.
Ibuki's lips were petals of flame against the ice of what Shindou came to consider their forbidden love.
Shindou sighed at the memory, it was no time to remember such things, he had an exam to study for. He could still feel the relief --now tainted with guilt-- that had flooded through him when he realised that everyone had already left.
Shindou was sure of his hiding place, which was a strategic place in his opinion. From here he could not only avoid attacks but also shoot, it was perfect... too perfect. What Shindou hadn't accounted for was Ibuki sneaking up behind him.
Ibuki smirked as Shindou turned to face him, the brunette wore a shocked look on his face, which later turned into a little smirk of his own. Ibuki was confused.
"If you even attempt on pulling the trigger--" Shindou shoved his gun to Ibuki's stomach, "-- I'll shoot."
As soon as those words left the strategist's mouth, he was pulled in by the waist and met with a pair of warm fierce lips. Soon enough the gun was long forgotten on the floor. Shindou's back was pressed against the wall as his fingers made their way to Ibuki's hair.
Ibuki pulled away and Shindou looked at him with confusion, though that confusion didn't last as he felt a shot and observed a smug smile forming on Ibuki's lips.
"I won."
"Shindou Takuto is out" read the screen and Shindou glared. Damn laser tag!
Shindou smiled lightly as the memory forced itself to the surface, this was one of his most treasured memories with Ibuki. Shindou let out a rare curse as he couldn't find the book, Where the hell is that damned biology book?!
It was prom night and fuck Ibuki looked so hot Shindou almost drooled. He didn't for decency sake.
By then the two's relationship was still a secret so Shindou could literally do nothing but stare. It was surprising really how understanding Ibuki was to Shindou's will. But if Shindou had actually thought about it then it wouldn't have been so surprising, after all Ibuki knew that his lover's father was homophobic.
The night progressed and as it did both of them had enough alcohol in their system for Ibuki to ask the following, "dance with me and pretend the world doesn't exist."
"Okay," Shindou agreed.
And after that there was no going back.
Shindou couldn't help but sigh, not only over the book that didn't seem to want to be found but also at the flashback that thought it's appearance necessary.
"You dishonor me, Takuto."
These words coupled with the slap he received stinged.
Shindou cast his head down letting his bangs fall and conceal his face. His tears made contact with pavement and he couldn't help but think of how pathetic his situation was.
A photo, a damned photo could cause so much pain, a photo of him dancing with Ibuki. Shindou had no idea how his father got hold of it but he did and now due to that, he was currently homeless.
In his mockingly silent mind the brunette couldn't help but snicker at how he decided to solve his problems by bringing himself to the exact cause: Ibuki.
He stood at his lover's porch, his head almost kissing the ground in shame, his hands were burried in his pockets for warmth and tears dripped down his rosy cheeks to the ground. He took in a deep breath gathering whatever courage he had left in him and knocked.
In what felt like an everlasting eternity but were really mere seconds, the door opened and Ibuki emerged. Ibuki took in the sight of his delvished boyfriend and couldn't help the involuntary gasp escaping his lips, "What happened?" Shindou broke down.
A few cups of tea later in addition to Ibuki's comforting words Shindou calmed down, the male in question gripped at the edges of the blanket drapped around him and looked up into the violet eyes he came to love, "As long as I'm with you, I don't care where I'm sleeping."
Shindou sighed, his mind wasn't giving him a break today was it? Couldn't it have done that another time? He had a book to find and a testto study for damn it. And with his newfound rage, the 3rd year university student stomped his way to another shelf.
The next day, the pair walked hand in hand and with interlocked fingers they were ready to face the world.
Or so they thought, it was true that they made it through school just fine but..
Shindou's father had heard, his son was off to sleep with his boyfriend and so he was enraged. The older male had a reputation to maintain, he couldn't have his son be his company's downfall by tainting said reputation, making his mind he filled out forms to send his son studying in America. It'd look good for his reputation and keep Takuto away from his boyfriend.
It was true, the last part. That was the last Shindou saw of Ibuki. Sadness swirled across the young adult's eyes, he missed his boyfriend.
His sadness was short lived as his eyes spotted the book 'found it!' He had almost cried out in victory, and as he reached for the book a hand met his.
"Munemasa?"
"Takuto?"
