"annie? hey?" sam said. "are you high?" he asked me. "yeah, a little. i know it's weird of me to ask but could you drive me somewhere?" i asked him.

"oh, uh, yeah, of course. let me get my keys." he said. "thank you so much." i said. he walked into his house, grabbed his keys and walked back outside. "you're an angel, sam. thank you." i said.

"it seemed urgent. c'mon." he said, and i followed him, as we walked to his car. "so where exactly are we going?" fuck.

"the apartment building on 4th." i said. "why?" double fuck. "uh, i live there, and my roommate needs me home. they got hurt pretty bad." i explained.

"shit, okay." he nodded and drove me home in silence. "thank you so much, sam. you're the best!" i said, getting out once he'd parked. i then ran inside and up the stairs to the apartment. what? i was fuckin' worried about my boyfriend, ben hadn't told me shit.

i unlocked the front door to see patty laying on the couch passed out, curled in a ball and looked like he'd been crying.

"fuck." what the fuck happened. i sat down on the couch and patty woke up almost as soon as i sat down. "a-aws?" he asked, his voice cracking. f u c k.

"hey, baby. im here, my love." i told him, and he cuddled into my side. "w-where were you? needed you home." he asked, resting his head on my shoulder.

"me and grace made up, i was hanging out with her and everyone. i thought i told you before i left. im sorry." i told him, running a hand through his hair.

"nuh-uh. was sleeping. you were gone when i woke up." he said. fuck. he thought i'd just used him for a quick fuck, didn't he? "im sorry, baby. i love you."

"love you too. my mom called. said she wishes i wasn't born. said it's my fault my dad's gone again." he told me. this was the first time he'd brought up his family.

"im sure it wasn't. she's just upset it happened. and when we get upset, sometimes we blame people for our problems, even if it wasn't their fault, because they need something to get their emotions out on." i said, playing with his hair, because that always calmed him down.

he sniffled. "does my mom hate me? she probably does." i needed to know what happened, but he was in fragile state already. id asked ben later. "no, baby. even if she does, i love you more than enough to make up for her." i said.

" 'm tired." he mumbled. "then go back to sleep, baby. let's get you into bed, though." i said. i stood up, patty getting up with me. when we got to our room, i found the door of the bathroom, which was next to it, was off the hinges. looked like it'd been broken off too.

patty quickly climbed into bed and fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.
