"Dude, he's been quiet for months. It's actually quite racking my nerves." Calum says to Michael, who was doing pull ups. "Chill out, Hood. We'll know if he makes the first move." Michael says, coming down and wiping off his sweat. "Maybe he already has, Michael. There are only eight of us. Lucian has a whole army." Calum says.

"Tone it down with the whole army. He has four times the people we have. I could kick their ass any time of the day." Michael mumbles, putting on a tank top. "What about Ashton?" Calum asks. Michael tenses up, but spoke right away, "What about him?"

"What if he's still with Lucian?" Calum asks. "If he is, he'd be the first I'd kill." Michael snarls. "What about his friend? What's her name-"

"Amara." Michael replies immediately. "Right. Her. What if he's with Lucian too?" Michael looks at Calum in disbelief, "Really Calum? That girl? The girl wouldn't even hurt a fly."

"It's always the ones you least expect." Calum states.

Michael refused to believe that Amara was somehow involved with Lucian. He just feels like it cannot be true. But also, he didn't want it to be true. "Least expect of what?" Luke walks in, immediately plopping down on Michael's bed. "Where were you?" Michael asks.

"Stopped by at your girlfriend's, a thank you is much appreciated." Luke says, sitting up. "Girlfriend's?" Calum furrows his eyebrows. "What did you say to Amara?" Michael asks, his serpent-like eyes sparked with interest.

"Just told her that she needs to distance away from you and Ashton." Luke says. "You're welcome." Luke immediately adds. "Yeah, good luck with making her listen." Michael scoffs. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"You just made her even more curious than she already is. Then she's going want to be involved in everything and next thing we know, she is, and the minute she's aware, she's gone." Michael babbles on. Calum and Luke taken aback with the last few words he had said. Michael heard it too, but he chose not to address what he just said. Why did he even say that?

"Just, don't let her or anyone get involved, again." Michael continues, as he walks out of the room.

Meanwhile, Amara arrives at school, walking up to her locker. "Are you and El fighting?" Yvie approaches her. "Yvie! You're here! Why weren't you in yesterday?" Amara hugs her friend. "I had to take care of something for the homecoming committee. So, are you and El fighting?" Yvie says, and asks again.

"We got into a fight, about this boy,, the new guy-"

"Kean Andersen?" Yvie says. "How do you know him already?" Amara asks her. "He was all over my feed last night," Yvie says, almost like trailing off. "And you were too." Yvie continues. "He asked me to homecoming, and I turned him down for Eleanor. She really likes him, really really in a way she had to attack me verbally." Amara whispers the last part.

Yvie sighs, almost stressfully. Amara looked at her, "This isn't the first time isn't it?"

"No. Before this school year, we had a fight during the summer. About who was going to be the head of homecoming committee, we were both nominated, but as we can see, I won. And she was so angry at me she started to tell me harsh things." Yvie says, recalling the memory. It felt like it was a history ago. "I couldn't believe it at first, I walked off and we didn't talk for like a month, then she apologized out of nowhere." Yvie continues.

"Is El okay?" Amara asks Yvie. "I'm worried about her." Amara says, her voice laced with concern. "I wish I knew." Yvie puts a comforting hand on her arm. "But hey, listen, um, I need a favor."

"Anything." Amara replies.

"Half of the homecoming committee has the flu and I really need all the help I can get. Can you fill in and hopefully bring someone else too? I just really need the people. Homecoming is tomorrow, and I really want this to be an amazing start for the school year." Yvie pleads. "Of course I'll help. I'll try to get Ashton to help, is that okay?" Amara says, smiling at her friend..

"Of course!" Yvie replies. The bell rang, it was now time for class. "Thanks! I'll see you later!" Yvie hugs Amara for a brief moment as she runs off to her first class.

Third period rolls around, Amara sighs as she had to face Kean again. And remember what happened yesterday. She walks in and immediately lock eyes with Kean across the room. She looks away after a few moments and struts to her seat, which was two columns away from him. The teacher hadn't arrived yet and the class was slightly noisy. But it was already noisy in Amara's mind. it was midday and her body felt like it was the end of the day.

"You look like you have a lot on your mind." Kean walks up to her. Great, just what she needed. "I do. And I don't know how to deal with it when they're all coming at me all at once." Amara's lips form a thin line. "Sorry if I seem to add to the mix, you know, because of yesterday. I didn't mean for things to end up that way." Kean apologizes.

His voice was so sweet. And his brown eyes were so soft. He was so likeable. "It's fine. El and I will make up. Don't keep beating yourself up for it." Amara reassures him. His pink lips curve into a grin, "I actually um, talked to your friend, Eleanor today at first period. She said she was scared to talk to you, she told me she felt embarrassed of how she acted yesterday." Kean says, furrowing his eyebrows slightly.

"I didn't catch her earlier, but um, I'll talk to her, later. Thanks for telling me." Amara says, opening her book. "And she, um, she told me it's cool if I went with you." Kean says. Amara's eyes shot up. "This is worth the second try, but, um, will you go to Homecoming, with me, Amara?" Kean asks.

She battled her answer in her mind. What if El didn't really say those things? What if he just made it all up? Or she was just being paranoid? "You know what, sure. I would like to go to homecoming with you." Amara responds. Kean smiles brightly, "Great. I'll um, I'll see you tomorrow, then?"

"Yeah, definitely." Amara says as Kean saunters to his seat. The teacher arrives minutes later as the two exchanged lingering glances from time to time.
