"You cleaned up nicely! Look at that, no traces of smudged make up! " Ty couldnt wipe the smile off his face at the sight of pregnant me in his huge shirt wearing slippers that are 5 sizes too big for me.
My hair was swept back in a messy bun. Thank God I shaved. Imagine prancing in here with hairy legs. Gosh, that would have given an entire new meaning to his pet name for me, "Little Wolf".
Ty handed me a plate filled with chicken, steak, meat, potatoes and different salads. Overload much?
He bent down and kissed me on the forehead.
"You are beautiful, Miss Watson."
"Forward much!", I wiped my forehead vigorously. "Heaven knows where those lips has been!"
He ignored my sarcasm as I sat cross legged on the love couch having a very intimate discussion with my food.
"Oh and just so you know: the salads are for you because of... you know, and the meaty bits are for the little one", he smiled as he took a sip of his coffee.
"...and you, dear Ty, are the most annoying human being I've ever laid eyes on."
He watched me inhale my plate of food and handed me a glass of my favourite juice. Mango.
"You hate mango juice...", I stared at him quizzically.
"I do. That's the bottle you left in the fridge the day you left. I kept that last bit for you. I've been waiting for this day." His words clearly warranted a shrug and a smile drenched in sarcasm.
I looked at the consistency of the juice and poked a finger in it. Ty erupted in laughter at the look of disgust plastered all over my face!
"You are still as gullible as ever, A. Truth is... The day you left I vowed to always stock your favourites. Whenever it gets too dark I try to stomach it. I have hazelnut hot chocolate and those dreaded crunchy peanut butter that you love." He stood up and came back with so much more than just that.
I couldn't help but stare at the floor whilst fidgeting with the buttons of his shirt. I was hurt that day. We broke each others hearts. I never took a second to consider his feelings... to consider what I've put him through.
He sat next to me and placed a finger on my cheek, wiping my tears. I was unaware of the water spills.
The emotion possessed every fibre of me. I was angry, sad and I felt drained.
"I never left you. Yes, I walked out the door but I never left you, Ty! You allowed me to go. You didn't try to stop me. You didn't make any attempt to keep me here. What was I supposed to do?!"
Ty was a little too close. "I didn't try to stop you. I allowed you to leave. You are right. Your reasoning behind the breakup made no sense to me but I accepted it. When I asked you to marry me... you said yes. You promised to stay with me because you said, you'd always want to be here. With me. The day you left I respected the change. I respected you as a grown woman. My job is not to keep you here. I gave you free will. You just didnt choose me." He stared at my hands and pursed his lips before he continued.
"Alayna, that day still shreds me to pieces. I replay that last scene over and over and try to make edits but I can't. I've tried to move on but I couldn't. Your snorting laughs, the way your nose wrinkles right before you sneeze, the sarcasm, your wit, your mind and gosh I even missed those black stinky pumps I desperately needed you to throw away! I missed everything. I miss all of you."
The snorting laughter escaped as time stood still. I glanced at him and saw his face lit up. I fell into his arms and brushed my lips against his. The familiarity pushed me over the edge.
I swung my legs over his seated position and sat on top of him. I could hear the blood rushing through my veins. I felt the rhythm of our beating hearts as I pulled my fingers through his hair while he loosened my hair. My tongue caressed his, making up for the lost time. The butterflies were growing horns as Ty tore his shirt off my body.
He picked me up and carried me to his bedroom.
My bedroom.
The room boasted with a king size four poster bed set in a wooden construction. The moonlight shone in on us...
It was full moon and the transition from Miss Alayna Watson to Little Wolf was bittersweet.
