Every time I would save you, I was throwing away a piece of myself.

I sneaked behind Mrs.Kim's house as she showed me past her back gate. She had a small garden and a rocky path that led to a road.
"Where does this lead?" I asked the elderly woman.
"Where you want it to." She smiled.
"Ok.." So she must be crazy..
"My son will be here any minute." She turned to me and pinched my cheeks, like any grandma would, "Please be careful, Luna. I will keep you updated." I smiled, holding back tears.
Mrs.Kim was like a grandmother to me. She helped me not only financially, but also with school and always had a piece of advice to give me.
"I will be here." She put her hand against my heart and I put mine on top of her.
"And I will be here." I did the same to her. We stood like that until a car honked and the window rolled down.
In the car sat Kim Taehyung, the man I met last night and with his help, I would be free of an abusive relationship.

"Why didn't you say anything?"
The ride had been silent for about 10 minutes until Taehyung spoke. I had been looking outside and his deep voice brought me out of my thoughts.
"About what?" He shook his head.
"About what else!? That Liam guy has been tormenting you for I don't know how long and you let him, why?" I flinched and hugged myself.
"I'm sorry.." He reached out and then pulled his hand back. "I'm sorry for screaming, but can I know why?"
"I.. I was afraid. He threatened me." I was shaking.
"Threatened you? How?"
"I don't want to talk about it.. Just don't tell anyone about this.. Please."
"Who said I would?" I chuckled.
He stopped the car and we stood in front of Jewel's house. Her house was a mansion. Walls of brick and woodens sills as she grew flowers around it. There was space to park 3 cars and it even had a pool as big as a yacht.
Taehyung didn't move but I did. As soon as Jewel walked out the door, I ran out of the car and hugged her. It hurt but all I wanted was to be with her and KS.
"Luna." She laughed and hugged me. I pulled away and looked up at her.
"Why are you with him?" She looked at Taehyung and I shrugged.
"I was at his mother's and he offered to drive me here." I walked back to the car, and poked my head inside.
"Aren't you going to do something?" He shook his head and took a deep breath.
"I don't think leaving you here is the best idea."
"What?!"
"She could easily find out about your wounds and this will put her in more danger."
"But he can easily find her and hurt her."
"You said he didn't know where your friends lived."
"Then what do you propose?"
"For you to live with me." I almsot choked and shook my head.
"Umm.. no."
"It's the the best option so far, unless you have a better idea."
"I don't but if I were to live with you, Jewel can easily assume something. And what about your girlfriend?" He laughed. LAUGHED.
"Who said I had a girlfriend?"
"I don't know. I just assumed you would.."
"Well, you're wrong and your friend can think whatever. It's safer for you to be somewhere he doesn't know, not including your friend's house."
"What about your friends?"
"They don't care."
"Well, what about other people? Employees?"
"They should mind their business. And why wouldn't you want to live with me?"
"I don't know. Maybe because I barely met you last night and I don't know what you can do!"
"Luna, aren't you coming?" I heard Jewel say behind me and I looked back at her.
"If you're not going to do anything, stay in the car." I said to Taehyung and walked with Jewel inside.

"So what happened?" She turned to me.
"I'm moving." She smiled.
"Are you moving near KS and I?"
"No.. I'm going back to my parents.." She sighed and I could see the pain in her eyes.
"Are you going to tell KS?" I shook my head.
"She just got married and I don't want to ruin this moment in her life." Jewel hugged me and I hugged her back stiffly.
"Take care." I smiled and walked out of her house, going back inside the car.
"Can you take me to my parents'?" We drove off as the sun started to set.

"My lovely daughter!" My mom said as she hugged me. Are more bruises forming?
"Hey mom.." She pulled away and looked at my face.
"What is it?"
"W-what?"
"I know something's bothering you."
"How can you tell? And you're right. It's school and all the headaches that it gives me. I got sick last week." I smiled as she ruffled my hair.
"Remember to take your medicine, okay? Also, don't forget than you can always come back and do school online."
"I've thought about it but KS and Jewel help me."
"That's good, and who's the young man in the car?" I gulped and looked back at Taehyung. He got out of the car and walked up to us, bowing as he introduced himself.
"I'm Kim Taehyung, your daughter--"
"Don't tell me he's your boyfrind?" I could see stars in my mom's eyes but before I could say anything, Taehyung put an arm around my shoulders and pulled me closer to him.
"What if I am?"
"I'm so glad my daughter won't die alone!" She said and I tried to pull away from Taehyung as I whispered, "It hurts." He softened his grip and smiled at my mother.
"Where's the father?"
"Ah, he's working on the farm."
"He must be very hardworking."
"He is and all to help Luna with school." They walked inside and my mother made coffee for Taehyung. I picked up Moonshil and kissed him.
"How's my boy?" He barked and I sat beside my mother.
"Can you tell me more about him?"
"He's Luna's father, of course, and works until morning trying to make money and pay the bills as well as Luna's education."
"But I told you I can find a job and help." I spoke up, still petting the white dog.
"And I've told you to focus on your studies instead of worrying." I pouted and I heard Taehyung laugh. An actual laugh since I met him.
"I'm glad to see your family getting along."
"What about yours?" He looked down at his hands and shrugged.
"What can I say? Since I work far away, I don't live with my mother but Luna makes sure to keep her company." I smiled. I never really realized how lonely Mrs.Kim was but she was a very nice woman. She reminded me of my mom, always with open arms.
"I'm glad you two found your way together. I hope you two last."
"Me too." Taehyung looked up at my mother then at me. He then stood up and fixed his shirt.
"Well, I was happy to visit you but it's time for us to leave." He bowed but my mom hugged him, surprising Taehyung. I put Moonshil down and hugged my mom after she released Taehyung. "Bring Moonshil too." He said before leaving and I did as told, following him.
