I loved you, but I wasn't able to use my words

°°°°

After 3 days in the hospital, I got my results and looking at them, I knew I wasn't able to keep my promise.

I smiled at Taehyung as his face lit up when he looked at the results. He picked me up, spinning me around.
"You're going to be alright!" I cried tears of 'joy'.
"We can go out and travel with Yeontan and Moonshil when we get back home." I said as Taehyung put me back in my wheelchair.
"For how much longer will she stay here?" Taehyung looked at the doctor and he looked down at his clipboard.
"Two weeks, and then she'll have to rest for three weeks." He said. I smiled at him, silently thanking him. I looked up at Taehyung and he cupped my face, kissing me. I didn't pull back but after a few seconds, the doctor cleared his throat.
"Sorry.. I got really excited." Taehyung rubbed his neck sheepishly, making me laugh.

Once back in the room, I laid on the bed, Taehyung beside me as he held my hand.
"We can go anywhere you want once you get better." I smiled and lifted my pinky.
"Promise to always try to have a smile on your face and be full of laughter?" He wrapped his pinky around mine, already smiling.
"Promise." I cupped his face, kissing him with everything I had and felt.
When we pulled away, his face was flushed, and I could just imagine how mine looked.
"Why don't you go hang out with the guys? I don't want to have you by my side when you could be having fun." Taehyung smiled.
"Do you want me to go?" I nodded, holding his hand and then letting go as I ushered him to leave, giggling. He gave me one last kiss before he was out the door. A few minutes after he left, the doctor came in and I sat up, looking at him anxiously.
  "How long do I have?"
"2 days. Your injuries are severe and there is no way you will be able to make up for all the bone loss. Your pain will only increase as time goes on.." He looked at me, sorrow in his eyes. I sadly smiled.
"Can I please have some paper and pen?" He nodded and handed me his clipboard, leaving the room and coming back with the supplies in his hands. He then left me and I started writing, letting a few tears fall.

Taehyung came back with takeout, placing it on the table beside the bed. I smiled up at him and he insisted on feeding me, to which I let him.
" What did you do today?" I asked and he moved closer to me, excited.
"I went to a coffee shop with the guys and then from there, I took a few pictures of the park we went to." He pulled out his phone and showed me the pictures. Most of them were of flowers, the river or the sky but one that caught my eye was of a couple sitting under a tree having a small picnic, "I went to a flower shop and you should've seen those flowers. They were probably bigger than my arm." He said as I nodded.
"I want you to stay like this. Laughing and loving the things in life." He looked at me and took my hand.
"If I know you're by my side, that won't be a problem." I smiled at him, bringing his hand to my lips as I gently kissed them.
  "I'll do my best."
We put the food away and Taehyung kissed my forehead before he left. I told him to sleep with the guys as he had barely left my side and I didn't want him to see me broken. I left the note on the side table, laying down comfortably before I took my last breath.

Taehyung's POV

I woke up quite early, not wanting to waste any of today when I could be talking with Luna. Over the course of her stay with me, I had developed feelings for her and was planning on confessing to her with a bouquet of flowers.

When I reached the hospital and walked inside, everything was calm. I took the elevator to the 4th floor and as soon as the doors open, I felt like my world fell. Nurses were coming in and out of room 124, Luna's room. I quickly made my way to her room and found it empty. I heard the squeaking of a wheelchair and turned around, expecting to see a smiling a Luna as she waved at me, but what I saw was an empty chair.
I stepped inside the room, standing at the end of the bed. I looked down at the flowers, tears rolling down my cheeks.
There was a tap on my shoulder and I turned around. A nurse sadly smiled at me as she handed me a folded piece of paper. She then left, leaving me to my thoughts. I placed the bouquet on the bed and opened the letter.

Dear Taehyung,

Over the course of these few days, I've smiled more than ever, I've laughed more than ever and I have also cried more than ever. I'm writing this supposing you already know.. But if you don't, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I never told you. I'm sorry I wasn't able to stay by your side anymore.
When the test results came back, I knew it would be the end. And even before that, I felt it. I had the doctor lie to you because I didn't want you to worry about me. And when I cried with you, I felt sad.
I won't be able to talk to you, but look at the moon. From where I rest, I will be looking over you.
I want you to keep your promise. The promise of being filled with laughter and having a smile on your lips. I'm sorry I broke the promise I made to you.
Don't hide my death from the guys. I want you to tell KS and Jewel. Tell my parents. Tell them that I won't be returning to their arms any time soon.. Tell them I love them.. And that's something I was never able to tell you.

I love you Kim Taehyung, but now it's too late to use my words. Go move on but remember what you promised.

  Sincerely,
Luna
