The lake shook Ben, as he had found himself peering into his reflection again. Instead of a beautiful sunset, night fell long ago and casted slight darkness. A full moon lingered beside the clouds, that was so thin that the pale blue glow still shined through. It was beautiful, but Ben could not linger in the affections of appearances. His mind lingered like the wooded area that held no light.

" Again?" A voice lightened Ben's thoughts, and he loosened the arms wrapped around his legs just to look over his shoulder. Jeff stood not to far, the lights causing the air to soften his looks. Ben admired the way Jeff could look right in every lighting, and he even felt jealous at times.

" Go away," Ben muttered, pushing his gaze back. No, he truly thought with a plea, do not leave me alone. And, to the smaller male's surprise, he didn't leave. Instead, the burnt man sat a comfortable distant away from the other. When Ben looked at the killer , he had not looked at him, but up at the moon in front of them. He felt a yearn from Jeff's stare.

" You have a sharp tongue," Jeff commented softly to himself, chuckling lightly," some day you'll look back and feel embarrassed."

" You don't know anything," Ben growled and tightened his arms around his legs. He removed his gaze and viewed his reflection once again. All he could see was a disgusting ghost.

" You're scared to live," Jeff stated with a sigh, leaning back and holding the ground behind him," you have been through so much that you linger between reality and fear. It's scary. You don't know if you're important to anyone or anything. Even, if you might have a purpose. You're in a new place, so you have no friends." Ben's gaze has never snapped so quickly towards the burnt man." You don't want to ever feel pain again, but yet you want to gain knowledge. So, you're stuck. To have these thoughts, are scaring you. And, you have no where to go or run too. Its-"

" Shut up!" Ben wailed finally, slamming his fists to the ground and shoving himself to stand. Water, unknowingly, swirled in a circle around the frustrated male's feet. Black tears stained the elf's soft face." I'm tired of everyone saying they know!" Jeff only kept unfazed eyes towards the broken male. He had prepared himself for this, and the relations to his actions was somewhat unbearable. However, he still wanted to stand up and argue back. Say something along the lines of:

" You're not the only one who's suffering!" Or a," Stop being a emotional bitch." But Jeff didn't. He couldn't bring out his anger, but instead shoved it to the bottom of his chest. This surprised him when he was able to suppress the impulsive thoughts and actions.

Ben peered down at Jeff with venom in his red eyes. Seeing as Jeff did not seem phased by the wail, he fell to his knees weakly. He pushed his hands in his hair and brought his head to the ground. He was in pain, not physically, but mentally. If the elf's sanity had not snapped long ago, it would have been at that moment. He wanted to kill, to hurt others, to take out his anger to those he didn't know.

" Its okay," a voice stopped Ben's hissing thoughts of pain and regrets. However, he did not faze from his crouched position that hurt his neck." I won't say I know. But, I listen. I may not know the pain, but I can assume how much it hurts." Ben sobbed, his thoughts blank of any anger he could throw. Not even SlenderMan had spoken to him like this. And, it had been a type of reassurance. All the poor entity could do was cry. Cry away the pain.

...

Ben found himself in a different area; one that was less beautiful. He stood on the bottom floor of a two story house. The owners dead, no slaughtered, bodies at the killer's feet. He peered down at the two parents with no emotion, a red glint in his eyes. He knew he killed the family cold heartedly, but he was numb and broken.
