Everyone has something that they hate about themselves- right?
At least I do, I know I would probably kill myself or go mad if the Bone Carver ever told me to fetch and face that mirror thing that Feyre had to go and get in A Court of Wings and Rui...
The girls sat down a bench in the third garden by the sixth form block. They scrambled for space on the bench but Cerise just sat down on the ground and took out her sandwich. Bee protested for her lack of space and Airin moved up even more until she was squashed up against the armrest.
"Guys, guys," Theodora said, "Friendship is the answer."
"Friendship is the answer." Cerise and Dorothy echoed, putting on mock-meditating expressions.
"Please, I want to eat. I'm starving." Bee wined and finally Airin released her, grinning as she massaged her hip.
After a while, Airin broke the comfortable silence "Hey, Theo, you have a crush don't you?"
"You keep on telling us you have a crush on your hand, " Cerise wiggled her brows, "That's not true right? I mean, how can you marry your hand?"
Bee snorted and covered her grin with her hand.
In their little friendship group, Cerise was probably the most sensible of the latter and of course Airin was the most immature. Bee was the pampered princess that they all called Her Royal Highness Ma'am Princess Bee and Theodora the weird, quirky peace maker and Dorothy their little pet who often delighted them with pastries and rock cakes. Cerise was rather pretty with dark hair and dark eyes, the top at French (well, of course, since her parents were French.) and a passion for science, Airin had short fluffy black hair that poofed around her face like candyfloss. Theodora was pale in all her features, pale platinum blonde hair and pale blue eyes and pale skin and looked like a lobster after long in the sun.
"What about you and Carter?" Theodora responded, her face perfectly straight,
Dorothy grabbed her shoulder and twisted her around so that she was facing her, "Hey! Stop changing the subject!"
"I don't have a crush."
All the girls groaned and face-palmed themselves.
"Thee-o!!! Tell the truth!" Bee begged.
"Tell us!!" Airin grinned toothily, looking like a lion with her candyfloss hair,
"Hi Cerise."
Cerise twisted around and waved to Carter who was passing by with the new guy, Dominik and Ambrus. She turned around fighting against her blush and looked to see the girls looking like they were going to explode. Their eyes followed Carter out of the Third Garden and as soon as he turned and was out of sight they started squealing.
"Eeeeee!!!"
She balked, they where making it far too obvious....
"Guys!"
"Ok, we'll stop." Bee said, sounding chocked and she was grinning from ear to ear.
Then Bee's huge smile fell and she shared a concerned look with Dorothy. Was everything alright..?
"Sorry, I forgot we had to meet Lauren." Dorothy said convincingly nervously, Cerise knew them as well as she did herself and she could tell when they were acting. But she didn't say anything.
"Oh, ok, it's alright, just go and meet her. Hope she doesn't kill you." Cerise grinned.
Her two besties packed up their stuff, she could hear that they where discussing something intently in Polish as they walked away.
"Say..." Airin stage whispered, "What's up with them?"
