The Jock and the Geek

Chapter 2: Cody's POV

I walked down the hallway to my next class. I couldn't help but to think about Lilac the whole time. Her Ariel red hair, her brown eyes, the bottom half of her left eye was green. Her lips was a rosy pink. The only makeup she had on was purple eye shadow and mascara. She was perfect.

"Yo, you okay?" Said my best friend, Zack.

"Yeah, man. Why?" I asked.

"You spaced out with this dreamy look on your face that girls get when the think about a guy," he said. I laughed and rolled my eyes. "Who is she?" he asked.

"Her name is Lilac. We have band together," I said. I described what she looked like.

"Is that her?" Zack pointed to Lilac as she walked in through the glass door. "Looks like you guys have algebra together," he said. My heart sped up as I looked at her. She was so beautiful. Lilac saw me, blushed, smiled, and looked down.

"Don't be rude. Invite her over!" Exclaimed Zack. I shrugged.

"Hey, Lilac! Why, um, why don't you c-come over here, and sit here!" I said. I sounded like an idiot. She didn't care though. She nodded and came over.

"I'm Zack Pearson," said Zack as he stuck out his hand towards Lilac.

"Lilac," she said. She looked at him differently, like, she was annoyed by him. When she looked at me, she looked at me like she felt the same way. Maybe she likes me back! Probably not though. She wouldn't want anything to do with me. I thought. But she's talking to me. That must be something!

Zack passed me a note. I opened it and it read:

Ask her to homecoming! Get a move on!!! Like, NOW!!!

"So, Lilac, y'know when homecoming is?" I asked.

"Yeah. October 15. Why? Are you taking someone?" She asked.

"Yeah. I was going to take you if you wanted to go with me?" I asked. She looked shocked but smiled as she blushed.

"Um, yeah! I would love to!" She said.

"Alright! Cool," I stammered. I was so happy! Zack passed me another note.

I smiled.
