Flair awoke and her heartbeat quickened. Each breath scraped the edges of her dry throat. Trying her very hardest to slow down time, she soon realised there was no escaping times passage. As she cracked her eyes open she was greeted by a waterfall of light, seeping through the curtains that were hidden in darkness from the night before.
She propped herself up off the floor and took in her now lit space. She starred in the corner of her room to find a light green jumpsuit hanging on the door knob, the color worn by criminals. She stretched out her sore body and walked towards the uniform and slipped it on.
Aaron must live!
The thought was glued to her brain. It was cruel to make her choose. This never would have happened if only she had said no to the first desperate parent that knocked on her door... Asher's father. If she didn't have Aaron she would have chosen Asher as she could never choose one twin over the other.
A rumble came from outside the room and it took a moment before she registered it was the guards. She placed her ear on the door and listened.
"Shame about her brother really. You think he would've been the strongest. Silly boy should have just let us kill him instead of doing it himself."
"They told her?"
"Nah, they know she's gonna choose him so they're going to kill the rest and leave her with no one."
A loud ringing entered her ears. Aaron was dead!
