That Band Boy

Chapter 2

Saturday morning, I woke up to a text from Luke.

       From: Luke<3

Hey! Be ready by 11! And don't bring money, it's all on me:)

        To: Luke<3

I'm still bringing money (lol) see you soon!

I checked the clock. 8:00. That gave me 3 hours to get ready. I called Marie, just to see how her love life is.

E: Hey Marie! How's you and Ashton?

M: Good! We have a date at 5:00 tonight. How's you and Luke?

E: Good! We have a date in 3 hours!

M: Aww! Sorry I can't be there, I'm stuck at the dentist!

E: Its fine! Well, I better start getting ready. Talk to you later! Love ya!

M: Bye Elle! Have fun!

I set down my phone and hopped in the shower. When I got out, I put on my bathing suit from PacSun and a really cute

sundress from Free People. I decided to not put any makeup on except BB cream. I checked the clock. 10:50! Wow, time flies when you get ready! I thought to myself as I slipped my shoes on and walked down the stairs.

As soon as I got downstairs, I heard a knock at the door. It was Luke. I opened the door and saw him with a bouquet of roses. "Hey Elle! I brought you some roses!" He said, and I could barely see him blushing. "They're beautiful! Thank you! I said, taking them and putting them in a vase. "Lets go!" I yelled, grabbing Luke's hand and running out of the house.

When I got to the car door, Luke ran and pushed me out of the way to open the door. "Aww, what a gentlemen," I said. teasing him.

We got to the waterpark and I realized it was Raging Waters, where the Beauty and A Beat music video was filmed (true fact guys lol) "Ohmygod we are stepping on the same ground as Justin Bieber!" I squealed and jumped, turning to Luke to see his expression. "I thought you didn't like JB," he said with a confused look on his face. "Trust me, I don't, but it's cool that we're on the same ground as he was!" I exclaimed. Luke shook his head and smiled.

There were so many rides to go on, but somehow we managed to go on them all in 3 hours. I couldn't stop smiling because I was having so much fun. When we were waiting in line for the scariest ride at the park, I got super nervous because I don't like fast rides, but I was going on it so Luke wouldn't think I'm a scaredy cat. He put his arm around me and said, "You're shaking like you just saw a ghost." "Just cold," I said, looking at the arm around me and at his face and smiling.

After 6 hours at the water park, we decided to go home because we were wiped out. But, me being the basic white girl I am, I got Starbucks at a stand in the park.

The car ride home was silent, but not an awkward silence, it was a nice silence. When we got to my house, I heard my parents arguing about money, like they always do. Luke lead me up the sidewalk, and as I opened the door to introduce Luke to my parents, I saw the last thing I wanted him to see. My dad slapped my mom in the face.

I screamed and yanked Luke out the door and slammed it. "I'm so sorry you had to see that Luke!" I said, worried he would think I came from a bad family. "Its fine. I guess we were both a little shocked. Do you want to come to my house?" He asked, a grin on his face. "Sure," I responded, getting in his car.

When we got to his house, I was amazed at how big it was. "Do you have any siblings?" I asked. "No, just me and my mom." He said, opening the front door. What about his dad? I thought, but I didn't ask because I didn't want to seem nosy.

He led me up a flight of stairs, to a huge room with a flat screen tv, recliners, and a chest full of movies. "Pick a movie you want, and I'll go make the popcorn and get some dry clothes." He said, walking out of the room. I looked at the movies and saw The Fault in Our Stars and grabbed it. I didn't try to put it in the DVD player because that thing looked fancy.

A minute later, Luke came up with a huge bowl of popcorn and one of his T-shirts. "Here," he said, handing the shirt to me. "The bathrooms at the end of the hall." I nodded and went to change.

Watching the movie made me realize how much I cry in movies. Luke and I were right next to each other, with his arm around my waist, and my head in his lap. I guess I was staring because Luke said, "Is there something on my face?" I blushed and wispered, "No." Right then, he leaned down and kissed me.

This kiss wasn't like a normal kiss. It was the kind of kiss you shared with a person you knew you would be with for a long time. After a minute, we broke the kiss and I smiled.

Then I got a phone call from my mom. "Luke, I'll be back, my mom's calling." I said walking out.

E: Mom?

M: Elle, your dad was arrested for abusing me. That wasn't the first time he hit me. And I'm moving out of state. I need a new life, a new beginning. I'm sorry honey. I'm at the airport waiting for my plane to board. The house is sold, so you have 2 days to pack all your stuff and move with Marie or that boy. I love you.

E: Mom! You can't just-

*Line dead*

I sobbed and sobbed and sobbed. I was so loud, Luke could hear me from across the house. He came rushing over and hugged me. "Elle, what's wrong?" He said, concerned. "My dad got arrested for abuse, and my mom moved out of state. She left me here all alone, and I have 2 days to find a place to stay!" I said, crying into his head. "Well, there's Marie and me, so you can choose where you want to stay." He said. I dialed Marie and waited for her to answer.

M: Elle, I have bad- Why are you crying? WHAT DID LUKE DO TO YOU?

E: Nothing! My dad is arrested, and my mom moved out of state, leaving me 2 days to pack up and leave. Can I live with you? I'll help pay for groceries and stuff.

M: I so wish Elle! But, I'm sorry to make you feel worse, but I'm moving too. To England. My mom got a job there!

E: Ohmygod.. where will I stay?

M: Luke! Stay with Luke!

E: I'll figure something out. When are you leaving?

M: Tonight. I'm really sorry I didn't get to say goodbye, Elle. I'm sorry you have to go through this. I love you, and I'll text you everyday.

E: Bye Marie! I'll miss you so much!

Where am I going to live? "Luke, Marie's moving too! I'm gonna be a homeless 16 year old living on the streets of LA!" I sobbed. "No you won't, Elle. You can move in here. We have an extra bathroom and room, and you don't have to help pay for anything. I called my mom and she said sure." Luke said, a sympathetic look on his face.

"Thank you so much, Luke. This means so much to me." I said, hugging him. "No problem. Now let's go pack your room." He said, walking out the door, hand in hand with me.

Second chapter is done! A lot goes on in this chapter! I'm trying not to make it basic and make it unique. Also, I won't get to update every 2 days once school starts. I may have to update 2 times a week, but hey, 2 Times is better than 1 time! Haha well live you guys! See you in my next update.
