Leo was staring at her as if she was crazy. And maybe she really was but she could also see understanding in his eyes so she relaxed and let her walls down.

He is the first stranger that she allows to get close to her in a long time. But there was just something in him that made her feel safe. Maybe it was the smooth sound of his voice, or the way he paid attention to only her when she was talking, or maybe even the way he seemed to have stepped in to her comfort zone to take a hold of her in his arms.

Well, any of those could have been enough reason to make her leave if he was anyone else, but it was Leo. And somehow she knew that he belongs in her life.

She was still shaken by what her ex did. But Leo's arms around her were having a very affective calming effect on her mind. And she was loving it.

They haven't talked in a while, a few months give it or take. But she should say thanks to god for sending him to find her when she most needed.

No many words were said. He held her until her sobbing turned in to silent tears falling down her face. And he just released his strong hold to dry her tears with his thumb, kiss her head and whisper that everything will be alright.

They stayed like that for a while longer. When she looked in to his eyes she could clearly see his concern and also, something else that she couldn't point what it was.

She knew he deserved an explanation to her breakdown. But as soon as she opened her mouth to say the words, he raised a hand stoping her.

"It's ok, you don't have to tell me now. I just want to make sure your alright."

She took a deep breath before saying "I am alright." And she really was. Maybe not well yet, but his presence was helping her, calming her down.

"I'm taking you home." He took her hand and puled her to start walking along side with him.

Maia was still shocked with what happened so she didn't realize until they were in front of a building that they had walked the opposite way from her house.

"Where are we?"

"I don't really know where you live so I brought you to my house.i hope you don't mind. But I figured you wouldn't wont to be alone tonight."

"Oh. Ahm, your right. Thanks."

That was the first time they really talked. The fist hour was a bit weird for both of them, but after that some honest conversation started and later there wasn't anyone that would be able to stop them from chatting the whole night thru.

But they were not there anymore and reality came back to them as soon as someone opened the classroom door. It was the janitor. Asking them to leave so he could lock the room.

And in that moment she could see all of Leo's walls coming back up. Closing her out once again.
