It's been a year since Millie and I have met and things have been going well so far.

we're currently sitting on her boyfriends couch cuddling against each other.

"(n/n)," a soft voice called out.

"Yes Mills?" I looked at her lovingly.

"I love you"

.....

Oh, that hurts like a bitch

But I kept a smile on for her, not wanting her to know.

"I love you too"

.....But more than a friend...

She put her head back against my shoulder and closed her eyes. her breath slowed down, signifying that she had fallen asleep.

Who knew someone so simple and basic could end up being something much more to me.

A few days after I have met Millie, I decided to come out to my parents and they both took it well. They accepted me and told me that they still loved me as much as they did before, hearing them tell me that felt refreshing and so comforting.

Millie didn't know that I liked girls, I was afraid that it would ruin our friendship, and so I kept quiet.

But it didn't help the fact that I fell in love with my best friend. Seeing Millie with Tom stung like hell, I knew it was selfish of me but I wanted to be the one kissing her, holding her, comforting her.
