The Final Recall (An Owl City Sci-fi fanfic)

Chapter Three

When I finished telling Daniel everything, he started at me blankly. I forced myself to swallow as a lump formed in my throat. What was he thinking? I hung my head and exhaled nervously. Daniel placed his hand on my shoulder and I looked at him.

"I can help you. But first we can't do everything that Jason says," he told me.

I looked at him. He's willing to helping me? But I just met him.

"Okay. And I can't do that. I'm not like you. If I don't listen to him, I'll-"

"Adam you won't get terminated. Here," he reached into his jean pocket and pulled out a necklace, "wear this. It'll override any order Jason gives you."

I nodded my head and examined it. It was like a small hard drive. Huh. Then I looked at Daniel. He nodded his head and I put it on. Just as I did, my bedroom door blew up and smoke filled the room. Automatically, I hid behind Daniel as the smoke cleared. My sensors were flashing the word danger before my eyes every five minuets. My system automatically shuts down when it senses danger. But it didn't shut down, I quickly hid the necklace that Daniel have me under my shirt when Jason rushed over. He looked mad. Jason's face was red and he violently yanked me to my feet. He balled his fist and hit me in the chest. I saw a map of myself in my vision and saw that my couple of my left ribs were cracked. Then he started attacking me. I curled up into a ball and endured the pain. When he was about to kick my face, Daniel stopped him. I tried to move but I couldn't. I watched Jason try to hit Daniel but he stopped his fist and twisted Jason's arm behind his back. Jason yelled out in pain and Daniel let go of him. I saw him storm out of the room and I heard him mutter under his breath. Out of nowhere, I saw that I was bleeding internally. Well, I don't have human blood, I use oil for some reason. Daniel got down beside me and looked me over. He told me that I need to go to the infirmary. I closed my eyes and felt Daniel pick me up and he started running. As he ran, I saw images of people. People I feel like I should know but don't. I heard Daniel yelling something but it was distant. Then I shut down automatically.

"Daddy!" A little boy exclaimed

I spun around and notice that I was in a room. A house? Then I saw the boy. He looked to be about six years old. He had brown hair and brown eyes. He held his arms out as he ran to me. I knew he wanted to pick me up but I couldn't. I don't know this boy. Or do I? The boy reached me and he hugged my legs. He looked up at me with a smile on his face. Then he frowned and started bawling. I looked up and saw a lady with blonde hair and blue eyes. She rushed over to the kid and picked him up. Then she came near me and had a sad expression on her face.

"Adam? It's me, AnnMarie. Your wife. And this is your son Josh," she said.

I shook my head and spun around. I started running and everything around me blurred together. I ran faster and I heard the girl, AnnMarie, and the boy, Josh, started yelling my name. Tears blurred my vision. I feel like I know them! I should know them but I don't. Suddenly, I heard a loud male voice calling my name. It's Daniel. I screamed and fell into the darkness.

Instead of seeing codes and lines and numbers like I normally do, my eyes flew open automatically and I could see fine. Weird, I thought. Then Daniel came into my vision. He told me that I'm fine and I'm repaired. I smiled back and sat up.

"You okay?" He asked

I shook my head 'no.' Daniel frowned and asked me what I saw. I sighed and told him everything. When I finished, he was staring at me. Then he said he believed me. I smiled again then Jason walked in. I clenched my fists and glared at him.

"You two follow me. Now!" Jason ordered

I felt the urge to follow him but then I didn't. The necklace actually works! I smirked at Jason.

"No. I'm not going with you Jason," I told him as I got to my feet with Daniel's help.

"What did you just tell me?"

I repeated what I said and tried to sound confident. Jason took a step towards me but Daniel stood him before he could destroy me. Jason yelled at us then he went out. I looked at Daniel who had a scared look on his face. We mad eye contact. I asked him if I was married. He shrugged his shoulders in an I don't know manner. I frowned. Daniel placed his hand on my shoulder.

"We're on our own now Adam. Jason is mean and a traitor. Come on. Let's go see if your wife and boy actually existed," Daniel said as we walked out and went towards the room with computers.
