Midnight

Chapter 5

"What are you doing?" Spencer asks while pulling away from me.

"Why are being so grumpy?" I push myself at him, hitting his side.

"I think you've had enough tonight." he says. I feel the drink get taken out of my hand and I look up to Spencer lifting it and taking it to the other room.

"What do you think you're doing?" I shout so he hears me over the music. He doesn't say anything and ignores my question.

"Hello?" I say as I follow him.

"I said you're done." He doesn't look at me and sits my drink down. How can he tell me to do what I want and stop letting people tell me what to do then tell me what to do? I grab my drink and jug it all.

"What the fuck did I say Addy?" He was not happy. I could see the anger taking over his face.

"You said not to let people control me, Spence." I slur as I let out a few giggles.

"That's not what I mean and you know it. I'm trying to help you." He huffs. "Come with me" he tries to pull me to go with him.

"No", I say as I pull out of his grip and start to pour another drink. I watch his eyes go on me.

"Whatever girl, you do you then" he says as he takes his eyes off me and starts to walk away.

I jug the drink and look around for Jen. I spot her in a few seconds. Her dark red dress is unmissable. I see she's talking to a couple of guys and decide to go talk to her. Hopefully I can get a ride from her, maybe even a place to stay for the night. But before I can even get halfway to her, I'm stopped by someone if front of me. I look up and see Sam again.

"Heyyy!" He yells, waving his arms.

"Hey" I give him a small smile and wave. I was just now paying attention to how he looked. He's in black joggers and a white tshirt. Not bad looking but defintely not my type.

"Are you trying to take some more shots with me Addy?" He doesn't give me a chance to answer before shoving another shots in my hand.

"It's Adalynn" I correct him before he cheers with me and I'm taking the shot.

"Come on, let me call you Addy" he persists. I don't let anyone call me anything other than Adalynn besides my family and Spencer. Adalynn is my name for a reason.

"I don't like people calling me Addy" I say as I look back over at Jen. Hoping to be able to sneak off to her soon.

"What about baby?" He smirks and winks at me.

"Oh no, hm I really need to be getting back to my friend. I think I'll be leaving soon and want to see if she'll give me a ride." I say trying to get off the subject and out of this situation. As I look up at the clock on the wall, it reads 11:49. I'm ready to go to bed. This is a big reason I don't do this "party" crap.

"Come on, I'll take you home if you need. Maybe you can just stay with me tonight" he smiles and moves closer.

"I actually don't live here, I'm supposed to be heading home tonight. I'm just visiting, this is my last night." I slightly lie. I mean it's all true except for me leaving tonight, I dont know when I'll be leaving.

"What a bummer. Well why don't you stay with me tonight and you can head out bright and early in the morning?" He tries to persuade me.

"I'll think about it. I really need to talk to my friend though. She has all my luggage at her apartment." I really want out of this situation. My head is spinning and I feel like passing out. I don't know anyone except for Spencer and I have no idea where he is now. I don't even remember what happened that made him leave.

"Okay babygirl, make sure to get back to me about it. Don't forget about me." He winked and went to what I'm guessing was to get more shots. As soon as he was turned the other way I made my way toward Jen before realizing she wasn't there anymore. I look around and don't see her anywhere. She must of gone outside.

Spencer

"When do you want to go?" Asks Jen. I take another shot and look over at her.

"Probably soon, I don't want to be out too late tonight." Spencer says. He had only taken a few drinks until he got into the argument with Adalynn. Now hes been taking a shot every few minutes and was starting to feel a very good buzz. He knew he would have to stop soon before he become too intoxicated to drive.

"I'm probably going to be staying until 2am so I'll see you at home then?" Jen walks out of the kitchen before even waiting for an answer.

I take one more shot of Tennessee honey jack daniels before I decide to look for Adalynn. She had surprised him by coming out tonight. He had never seen her drink before, or hangout out of school with anyone. He was starting to worry about her after not seeing her for awhile. He glanced throughout the rooms and saw no sign of her.
