Having and album nominated for a Grammy was one of your greatest dreams. You knew that One Direction were going to be there as well but you didn't let their presence, or Zayn's, bother you. What did bother you though, was that as a part of the show you were supposed to perform the song you and Zayn had written together. There was something especially romantic about the song...that would only have effect if that said couple was still together. The song was written and recorded a year ago when you and Zayn were going strong. Somehow it was leaked and now one of the most popular songs out there. "Are you nervous?" Your friend asked sitting next to you, watching the host do there thing. "I don't know really. me and Zayn ended things on a good note so that shouldn't really bother me. Were friends now." "Yeah...friends." Your friend led on. You only rolled your eyes as you saw you were being summoned back stage. Walking back you saw Zayn standing there looking flawless. "Hey Y/N" He greeted. "Hey! Ready to perform?" You asked giving him a small hug. "Yeah, excited really. It's been a while since we've played the song." "I know, I hope it still sounds the same." Your remark made Zayn shoot you a puzzled look, but you were then sent on stage so there was no chance for him to ask questions. Your biggest fear was not getting the message across to the audience as many of your songs had come to do. But as you both sang the song, the feeling just poured out of you leaving a very warm standing ovation from the audience. Taking a bow, Zayn grabbed your hand and walked backstage. He gave you a tight hug. "Did that sound the same Y/N?" He questioned finally understanding what you meant. "No" His face fell, "it sounded even better. Enjoy the rest of your night, Zayn." You said concluding the conversation with a kiss on his cheek. You of course still loved Zayn, it was just hard to admit to a community of hate and judgment. As the night continued to the after party you stayed with your friend mingling around with other celebrities. When you reached your hotel room after the long night you were pleasantly surprised to see a bouquet of flowers, picking it up you saw a note. Written on the note in scratchy handwriting-"Try to deny it as much as you want, but in time our feelings will show Z xx"
