THE NEXT MORNING
“Alec!”
“Al, wake up please!”
The sound of shouting woke me up and shaking. I thought it was just my friends shaking me, but then I realized the only thing touching me was my pillow and blanket. My eyes shot open in confusion. Was the ground shaking?
“Finally,” I heard Stiles sigh, along with Parker. I began looking around my room. Last night they stayed over pretty late, so we decided to have a sleepover. My eyes scanned the room for my clock. And once my eyes landed on it, my eyes widened. Not only because of the time, but because of my trashed room.
“What did you guys do? Wait, that's not even important. It’s 5 in the morning!” I exclaimed. “What is so important that-” I was interrupted when the floor began to shake again and everything in my room that was still neatly in place or at least not broken, fell or broke--which answered my questions about my trashed room.
“We have a problem.” Stiles said, running a hand through his light brown hair.
My heart dropped to my stomach as I realized what was happening.
Earthquake.
