John's POV
Laf walked out of his room and fell onto the couch. He looked like he'd been hit by a bus.
"Hangover?" I asked half heartedly.
"Urrerghhh" He responded. I was gonna take that as a yes. Herc also came out of Lafayette's room. I raised an eyebrow.
"Why were you in Laffy's room, Hercules?" I said, holding back a roar of laughter.
Hercules blushed "He wouldn't go to sleep alone last night. I was a hostage."
I rolled my eyes and got up to get Laf a glass of water. When I was filling up the glass, I noticed something.
"Hey, guys? Where's our roommate...Sarah, was it?" I said, letting the concern seep into my voice.
"Uhhh...." I heard Herc say from across the room. "I dunno. I think Laffy got her number though."
I grabbed Lafayette's phone off the counter and picked it up. Yeah, I knew his password, so what? I opened his contacts and, sure enough, he had one for our missing roommate. I shot her a text.
Screenames: FrenchBaguette (remember John is on Lafayette's phone)
FrenchBaguette: Hey, where'd you go last night?
DramaQueen: Oh, Lafayette, right?
FrenchBaguette: It's John on Laf's phone
DramaQueen: I left.
FrenchBaguette: Is everything ok?
DramaQueen: yeah, I'm just staying with a couple friends for awhile.
FrenchBaguette: Anyone I might know?
DramaQueen: I dunno, do you know James Madison?
FrenchBaguette: Oh yeah! We went to high school together. I thought he lived in a teeny apartment.
DramaQueen: he moved.
DramaQueen: I might come back this weekend though. I think one of my friends might like to meet you and the others.
DramaQueen: I have to go. My friends are running around the apartment trying to kill each other. Cya.
"She's fine!" I yelled back at Herc. I saw him sigh with relief. "She's staying with James and a couple friends for awhile."
"James? You don't think she's...the Sarah?" Herc said.
I froze. If this was the Sarah he mentioned, then...
"It's probably just a coincidence" I responded.
This was gonna be one hell of a year.
James's POV
I was walking back to the kitchen after Sarah had made Allison and Chloe apologize for god knows what when I felt my phone buzz.
Screennames: John: TurtleBoi Madison: MasterOfSick
TurtleBoi: @MasterOfSick I think we have a problem
MasterOfSick: what's goin on
TurtleBoi: is the sarah living with you the same Sarah from high school?
MasterOfSick: yeah...wait, how did you know I was staying with her?
TurtleBoi: She was my roommate.
MasterOfSick: Oh shit.
MasterOfSick: does she remember you?
TurtleBoi: well, she knows my name is John and she knows that I know you.
TurtleBoi: plus she knows Lafayette and how many Lafayette's could there be in the world
MasterOfSick: oh god. What do you need me to do?
TurtleBoi: I don't know. We have two options: either lie to her and say we aren't the kids who betrayed her in high school, or we figure out how mad she is at us and go from there.
MasterOfSick: there's a lot of risk here...
TurtleBoi: I'll be fine. I don't know if Laf and Jefferson would be able to take it if something bad happened.
MasterOfSick: Dont forget about Herc.
TurtleBoi: He doesn't have it as bad. He's more in my boat.
TurtleBoi: wait, why isn't she mad at you too?
MasterOfSick: I was never a jerk to her.
TurtleBoi: you're right.
MasterOfSick: her friends are here too, so maybe she's over you completely ignoring her in high school.
MasterOfSick: Although I wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't. You guys were some of her only friends, how could you do that to her?
TurtleBoi: we were trying to protect ourselves.
MasterOfSick: well, it may not even matter if she finds out. You would've stopped talking to her for no reason. Your "protection" may have just delayed the inevitable
TurtleBoi: she's going to tell everyone, isn't she?
MasterOfSick: she just might. I'll try and keep it from that. I have to go.
I looked up from my phone and sighed.
Sarah may ruin us all, forever.
