Chapter 7: Couple of Liars

HITOSHI

"Hey!" Bakugou called shifting my attention from Izuku to him. He bears an unsual calm expression.

"What?" I responded briefly.

I noticed his eye twitched, "The fuck did you do to him, ya brainwash bastard?"

He knew what I did to him, right? Pfft... As if some heartless dumbass like him act worried towards Izuku.

I almost laughed at that thought.

"What the heck you're talking about? You really think I brainwashed him?" I spoke while pretending to be shocked and indignant at him.

Of course. I did brainwash him. I mentally smirked at myself.

Won't let him know that, EVER. Izuku's mine.

"If that's not the answer you're looking for, then were just talking about my Quirk. You of all people should know how he loves to take notes about Quirks." I have to keep him from being suspicious, "I thought you two are childhood friends."

"Shut the fuck up. I know that's not the only thing you did! He's been acting weird because of you!"

I clicked my tongue in response. He's so persistent. How long do I have to keep pretending like this?

I have to make a comeback.

"I answered your question and now I'll ask the same thing you did to him this morning. You better not to lie on me on this one."

It was his turn to be shocked, "Well, he fell off the stairs, didn't he?"

Heh. We're just a couple of liars, indeed.

Only difference is that I knew he is lying.

"Oh, please... With burns on his face-- are you fucking serious?" I looked at him angrily, "Told ya not tell a lie, right?"

"Fuck you!"

"Did you forget? You're not allowed to harm a fellow student, especially with a Quirk. Now, what does All Might think of you doing such a harm towards his favorite student?" I smirked with satisfaction at his even more surprised reaction.

"If you kept accusing me for making him weird, just think about what you did!"

He went quiet this time. He bears that dreadful expression underneath that angry face.

"Don't worry, won't tell a thing-- with only one condition."

Bakugou remained silent, perhaps waiting for me to say it for the sake of his reputation.

As per frickin' usual, heroes are full of themselves. Bakugou is the proof for that.

Would it hurt to ruin his chances to be one, huh? Then good, I can use it to protect Izuku from him.

"Stay away from Izuku. I don't want your filthy hands touching him."

IZUKU

I couldn't stop thinking about Hitoshi the whole time I walked towards home. Bakugou has been in a bad mood today.

Psh... As if he ever had a single day of being in a good mood.

My thoughts went back to Hitoshi's calm figure. He really had the guts to face the most dangerous and aggressive individual in the universe.

I hope I was just exaggerating. There's no way Bakugou would do any harm towards him, that one is prohibited unless sparing time permitted by faculty.

Don't tell me... Is Bakugou trying to challenge him for a spar?

I don't think Hitoshi's strong enough fight against his strong Quirk.

"Izuku? Where are you going?"

I turned around to see my mom stepping outside the door with a confused expression.

I looked where I am now. I just walked passed my house without noticing. It if weren't for her, I would've walked even farther from my home.

I saw her eyes narrowing while looking at me and then suddenly she widens them as I heard her gasp, "Oh my gosh! Sweetie, what happened to your face!"

Oh crap, I completely forgot about my injuries.

"S-sorry, m-mom!" I walked back to her while blushing in embarassment, "I fell from the stairs! That's all, I swear!"

Mom sighed in disbelief, "That bad? I hope you didn't head your head really hard. Just few seconds ago, you just walked past our house."

"I guess... I was just tired."

Emotionally, I suppose. It took a lot to truly understand of what Hitoshi meant of being 'my hero'.

I actually had a different understanding about that... It feels like... I heard it before.

"Well... Welcome back home, sweetie. Dinner's already prepared so you can rest today. Maybe before that, I should change your bandages." My mom pats my shoulder while slighly pushing me towards the door.

"Thanks mom."

The next day, I went to school as usual. Mom showered my bandage covered face with kisses. I sighed while telling her not to worry so much as I need to be more careful. I hoped everytime I said that, it would stop her stress eating.

I stepped on the pavement roads on the way to the school building. I ran when I saw a purple hair by the gates.

"Hitoshi-kun. Good morning!"

Hitoshi turned around, surprised by my sudden appearance, "Oh, Izuku... M-mornin'"

Still, the thought of Bakugou talking with Hitoshi never left my mind. I looked at his face to find any injuries inflicted by him.

I sighed in relief when I found none, "Oh, thank God! He didn't hurt you..."

"You- you where worried about me?" Hitoshi asked while averting his eyes from me. I can see his cheeks turn red.

I didn't know he can be this cute.

"O-of course! Bakugou is quite dangerous! You were cool back then... You're brave and I wished I am, too..."

His face flushed even darker shade of red. I can feel my face getting hot, "I...ahh..."

"W-we should get inside..."

"Yeah... Lets..."

As Hitoshi turned around, he accidentally brushed my hand with his own. We both frozed as we were startled by the touch. Few moments later, we walked inside the building while pretending nothing happened.

My face couldn't stop getting warmer. I'm even sweating profusely. Until, I felt my body going numb. Pain suddenly shot through my head while my vision went blurry and then finally pitch black.
