Dear Reader,
What is Stan hiding from us?
I am writing this entry late at night in bed. (Mabel: Turn the light off and go to sleep! Me: I'm writing! Leave me alone!) Today I noticed some strange behavior from our even stranger uncle. Let me tell you the story.
I was sitting on the roof of the Mystery Shack earlier today. I was staring out at the view from there. I saw the Sun high over all of the trees. The sky was a light blue. I could see the green forest, which seemed surprisingly still. I spotted a couple of deer in the distance. I didn't notice anything suspicious or weird, which was fine by me. I decided to use this time to sit back and relax.
I laid back on the roof and closed my eyes. I let the warm breeze wrap around me. I took a deep breath in and then out. I felt very relaxed, which is a strange and unusual feeling for me. Grunkle Stan usually likes to keep me busy with work to do around the Mystery Shack. When I get free time, I usually am trying to solve a mystery or come up with theories. Lots of times I'm interrupted by Mabel who drags me along to one of her parties or embarrasses me in front of Wendy. And not to mention all of the strange situations I've gotten into.
Moral of the story is that me getting time to get comfortable and relax is rare. I wanted to use this limited time as a time to daydream and think happy thoughts. It mostly consisted of Wendy, Wendy wearing a dress, me dancing with Wendy, me talking to Wendy, Wendy laughing at my jokes, Wendy and I on a date and death. It was mostly the death of Gideon, in which I beat him in a battle and proved myself to be a hero. Of course, I danced with Wendy right after. Her gorgeous face was smiling at me, and there was the look of love in her eyes--
(Mabel: Dipper! I'm not kidding! Hurry up and go to bed! Me: Okay, okay! I'm almost done.)
I'll try to write this as quickly as I can. So, as I was saying, I was daydreaming. As I was doing that, the sound of Grunkle Stan's car being unlocked suddenly interrupted my peace. It made a loud beeping noise. I was curious as to what was going on, so I got up from my comfortable position on the roof to see. I peered down to the parking lot to see what was going on.
I saw Grunkle Stan walking out of the Mystery Shack. He was holding his keys and a mysterious red item in his hand. He glanced around nervously like he was afraid someone was going to see him. He moved quickly to his car. I was curious as to why he was acting so suspicious. I hoped he hadn't gotten into any trouble with the police lately. Not that it wouldn't be unusual for him.
Stan opened up the door of his car and hopped into it. He shut the door and drove off in a hurry. As I watched his car disappear into the distance, I wondered why he had been acting so strange. I also thought about what the red thing was that he was holding. For some reason, it looked extremely familiar. I know I had seen something like it before, but I couldn't remember what it was. I sighed and laid back down again. My mind was now beginning to go back into regular Dipper mode. My head began spinning around with theories and ideas. Why was Stan leaving in the middle of the day, when the Mystery Shack had the most customers then? What was he carrying with him?
I heard someone step out onto the roof. I quickly sat up and turned around to see who the intruder was.
"Hey younger brother!" Mabel exclaimed. Her face was bright with excitement. "How do you feel about a surprise dance party tonight?"
"That's the third one this week!" I told her. "I don't need anymore."
"Oh, come on Dipper! You can never tire from dance parties!" Mabel said. "Dance parties invigorate you!"
"No, they don't-- Mabel, what are you doing with my hat!" My sister had stolen my hat from my head and ran off with it. I quickly followed after her.
