Chapter Six // Beach Party

As we drive to the party, Kayley won't shut up about Ashton.

"He's hot as hell Peyton. If you have a chance with him, don't pass it up." She tells me for like the millionth time. I just sigh and turn the radio up louder, causing her to cringe.

"I hate this song Peyt." She whines about the song that's playing, 'Rude'. I just laugh and turn it up more.

"Not cool." She pouts, but now she's laughing too.

When we find a parking spot near the beach, we park and get out to find the guys. Them being nowhere to be seen, I decide to call one of them.

I got all their numbers yesterday when they all asked me for mine. I debate on which one to call. I go with Ricky, because he always answers his phone, and because it gives me an exuse to talk to him.

He picks up in two rings. "Hey Peyton." I hear his deep voice with a slight lisp say into the phone. I love his voice so much, I can't even explain it. It's just so...sexy.

"Hey Ricky, where the hell are you guys?" I ask him, them remembering he doesn't like cussing. "Oh sorry, bad language." I apologize, earning a laugh from him. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Kayley smirking at me.

He tells me to meet them by the beach entrance, so me and Kayley start walking towards it. On the way there, a girl walks up and introduces herself to us.

"Hi, I'm Amanda. You two must be new around here?" She asks with a huge smile.

"Yeah, actually we just moved here yesterday and we're staying with some friends until we find an apartment or something." I tell her, smiling as well.

"Awesome! I think you'll love it here, there's a lot of really nice people around here as well." She tells me, still smiling. She has a really perky attitude, and it makes me like to be around her.

I nod, and she goes on.

"There's tons of things to do, and there's parties all the time. Speaking of which, are you coming to the party at the beach tonight?" She asks me and Kayley. Kayley nods, and the girl named Amanda seems to practically bubble over with excitement.

"Oh my gosh this'll be so fun! Mind if I hang with you guys?" She asks, and I shake my head.

"Not at all. I'm Peyton by the way, and this is my best friend Kayley." I tell her as we resume walking to the beach. I glance over at Kayley and she seems annoyed. Great, I like this girl, but I don't want to make Kayley miserable the rest of the night.

As we walk, Amanda and I talk about the randomest things, getting to know each other. Kayley was for a while, then got on her phone and zoned out. Oh well.

We get to the beach and see the guys waiting for us. Amanda's expression changes to what looks like a dark, angry look, but as quick as it came, it left and I didn't think twice about it.

"Hey guys." I say, smiling, "This is Amanda. We just met her and she's super cool. Amanda this is Ricky, Jc, Connor, and Kian, the friends I said me and Kayley live with."

She smiles as she says hi to them, but something about the way she looks at them, espicially Ricky, makes me confused. She looks almost like she could jump out and tear out his throat.

He looks at her weird too, almost guiltily. I ignore it and push the thoughts out of my head as we all walk out into the beach and towards the party, looking for Ashton.

There's a dj, a table where there's food, tables set up eveywhere, and cool lights.

I tell the guys I'll see them around then I walk to the table with food on it and grab a beer, even though I'm only twenty. I grab one for Kayley and walk over to give it to her. I'm not sure where Amanda went, but I don't try to find her. She was annoying Kayley so it would be rude if I did try to find her.
