Camellia had been more excited about the ball than she really should be. She had spent hours on her make-up. Choosing the right colour for everything had never been this thrilling, the familiar rush in her system began to pump from her heart and into her head, giving her those pleasant tingles in each part of her body. The ball was never great news for Camellia. She was bound to have her heart shattered again and would probably end up sitting the whole night with shots of whatever alcoholic beverage Elias could find. But tonight looked like it had some great potential to it.
The female had felt refreshed upon waking up. So when she walked towards the Entrance Hall in the gown her mother had chosen for her, she had this radiating glow that had every one turning their heads just to catch a glimpse of her. Despite the hard ball already clogged in her throat, Camellia had to keep the anxiousness inside her. She can’t show how weak she was now. Especially with the love of her life standing by the door with Cho Chang clinging to his arm. Her knees buckled under her, hands sweating and her whole body shaking; it took all she had just so she wouldn’t run back to her dormitory and go to sleep.
Pushing aside the pain and the burn in the back of her eyelids, Camellia smiled at Cedric, a lie that said she wasn’t weak. When in fact, she was close to crumbling. Cedric gave her a short bow and returned his attention to the younger girl beside him. Elias finally stepped in front of her, his blonde hair tamed and pushed back from his face, and looking dashing as ever in a dusky dress robe. The blonde stood out because despite the formal occasion, he kept the usual bad-boy persona that she so loved.
“You look lovely.” Elias complimented, pressing her knuckles to his lips.
“And you look rather dashing tonight, Sir Elias Kian.” Camellia smiled, hooking her arm across his own.
“Is my dislike towards the occasion obvious? Dumbledore told me to give it a chance even after I wanted to return the dress robe he gave me.” the male expressed, making his way towards the Great Hall. “He knew I was bound to ask you which was why he chose the colour since it will somehow match yours.”
“The disapproval isn’t quite evident, although, your effort is appreciated. You look like a prince.”
A grin tugged on his lips and he tried to suppress a scream, even when something had caught Camellia’s attention, he kept the blush to himself. By God, the woman could make him go crazy if she wanted to. Elias’ heart went crazy inside his chest, his stomach did reckless somersaults and his lungs were beginning to deprive him of air - the effects of Camellia Donovan to the likes of him. When the female finally turned back towards the procession of the four TriWizard Champions, her lips pursed together and the light in her eyes disappeared.
“Stop looking at him.” Elias uttered in disapproval, slipping his hand down to intertwine their fingers together.
Camellia glanced at him and then at their hands, before tightening her grip. It was really hurting her. They both watched the dance together, little by little joining in on the festivity in the middle of the hall. When it was their turn, Elias was careful to put her in the centre. To make sure that she will realize that he was going to give her everything he could. The brunette danced gracefully, and despite being distracted from time to time, it wasn’t evident to anyone that wasn’t holding her.
“Do you want to know what happened between us?” Camellia asked, finally looking up at him when another set of songs played.
Elias remained eye contact with her, searching her eyes desperately for answers. He caressed the soft bone underneath her cheeks and smiled.
