Arc of the Ankh's
Chapter One;
The beginning...
The hot blazing rays of Ra beat down on the golden sand of the desert, a harsh wind blowing. A small caravan slowly comes over the peak of a nearby sand dune. Five figures wearing heavy dark violet cloaks stop at the peak to look over; at what any normal person would consider a wasteland...
One of the figures on the right approached the middle; shortest figure. "High-Queen, this is the place..." his voice trailed off.
"Of course," the voice under the cloak came as no more than a whisper. A hand appeared out of the right sleeve as the Queen placed the hand over her heart. "Wait seven moons and return to rest," those were my husband's last words to me before the raid," the Queen looked to her right. "Do you understand commander?"
The taller of the two turned to look ahead of them letting out a snort, "so we're just turning tail and running is all," they muttered before stomping down the hill.
Another figure to the Queens right moved to pro-test before the Queen held up a hand silencing them. "A sacrifice for the greater good is still a sacrifice non-the-less," is all the Queen says before following the other down the dune.
The remaining members of the group look at eachother before following their Queen. The first waited for the rest to follow at the foot of the dune, the other party members looked around noticing that they were now standing in the base of looked like a large carter that's when flash of gold hit their eyes as the Queen pulled out her most treasured possession.
All but the Queen's mouth's tightened realizing what this item meant; there was no turning back now. The item in their hands was the golden Ankh the symbol of eternal life, but it wasn't just any'ol ankh, oh no. This was the Ruby Ankh; this was the symbol of an eternal Pharaoh.
The Queen bent down over what seemed to be nothing, a unnatural wind blew revealing a keyhole, in the shape of an Ankh. "Everything will rest until this seal is opened again," they looked up at the one they called commander. "Our heritage will be hidden in our very bloodline," they turned to the rest. "Our children will be safe for millennia and by that time..." they trailed off looking down at the ankh shaped that was engraved in a piece of lime stone. "We will be able to win," she looked up into Ra's light revealing her eyes amethyst color.
In a moment she looked down placing the Ankh into the slot a golden light immediately engulfing the small group as it spreads throughout the entire world. Once the light fades the group and Ruby Ankh had disappeared. The carter shifted as a fierce sandstorm thrashed the sands all but suddenly, hiding the stone slab yet again.
A loud stretch echoed throughout the desert skies as a pair of heavy boots landed on the sands, the sand around them swirling as the large leather wings flapped, orange serpentine eyes look critically over the disturbed sands. The man's lip curled back in a snarl showing his sharp teeth, his prey had gotten away.
Letting out another stretch of frustration the wind pulsed around him. After that his sneer turned into a devilish smirk as he pulled out his own golden item, another ankh. However instead of a ruby this one sported a sapphire.
"We shall meet again, Pharaoh's," he called out over the waves of sand, "and next time you will not escape me!" Expanding his wings he took off leaping into the sky as silence answered him. That night the sand turned a dark red color before fading back into its natural golden brown.
