CHAPTER START!
Yugi and Rebecca walked along the unbeatin' path through the lush forest the was beside vineyards. Bre kept her hands together at the small of her back, while Yugi had his hands laced behind his head eyes closed; he knew this wood like the back of his hand. They had been walking in comfortable silence for the past couple minutes.
Yugi's chest started to fell warmer, he slowly opened his eyes before looking down. There was soft glow under his damp tank-top. He blinked, the ankh? His abrupt stop almost had Bre run into him, she stopped just short of bumping into him before taking a small step back.
"Hey!" she snapped but blinked when Yugi pulled that ankh out from under his shirt. He was completely focused on the ancient item, plus it was glowing.
Yugi's grip tighten on the ankh- when ever this thing glowed it wasn't a good sign. Well, it was more like a warning, judging from the way that Arthur always got a dark look whenever Yugi ever showed him the glowing item when he was smaller.
Yugi shivered, he remembered the one time that he didn't tell Uncle Arthur about it glowing. Just because he wanted to know what would happen. Golden eyes flashed in Yugi's head. Yugi scoffed releasing the item letting it fall against his chest. Arthur could have at least told him that there was more like him. Well when Yugi thought about it why would he and Arthur's family be the only ones to shape-shift. Yugi really shouldn't have been surprised- what could he say he was only eight years old.
"What are you doing?" Bre's voice pulled him out of his thoughts. Yugi looked up at her blinking rapidly. He looked back towards the house, his eyes honing in on the building itself, something felt off. Was that what the ankh was warning him about?
Yugi turned on his heel heading away from the house. "Where are you going? Home is that way!" Bre pointed towards the house. Yugi stopped to look back at her, tilting his head abit giving her a blank look that bordered on innocence.
"Really now," he says with a smirk before turning back around.
Bre puffed her cheeks out at him. "Well fine then," she turned away from him. "Be that way if grandfather gets mad its not my fault," Bre stomped her foot before she even took one step-
"I wouldn't go over there just yet if I were you," Yugi abrupt voice makes her freeze one foot in the air. She turned on him.
"You just don't want to get introuble for avoiding grandfather!" she huffed before placing her hands on her hips smirking at Yugi as he slowly turns his head towards her. "I'm going home,"she says confidently.
Yugi tsked, Rebecca usually acted older than her age, mostly to prove that she was just as smart and capable as Yugi. She was only 14, 4 years younger than the Mutou boy. It really did start to tick Yugi off when she started to act insufferable like this.
He fully turned to Bre crossing his arms infront of his chest. Looking her straight in the eye, "You'll regret that choice,"Yugi says flatly.
Bre was a bit surprised but not enough to back down. She snorted, "yeah well see then wont we," she turned back towards the house. Not even looking back to see Yugi's eyebrow twitch. Bre's smirk widened as she counted down in her head. 3...2...1....
