"The same energy?" Kym questioned.
"Clearly there's some beef goin on, maybe later guys,"Amber suggested.
"Yes, definitely later," Kym agreed.
"Maybe, you could go get that chip off your shoulder too," Micah also suggested.
Kym breathed in the now thick air like she was about to have a tantrum. She turned on the heels of her feet, walking away with a stiffness. Micah suddenly felt bad, he made his crush angry on accident. He'll just have to listen to her scold him and hurt his feelings some more and then say he's sorry for behind so rude. His mom could beat him up if she found out he was so cold.
He moved around the gallery some more while speaking with Amber. "I promise you she's not that mean. She's just really stand off-ish. And plus you're so young," Amber explained.
"Young? Lady, I'm nineteen going on twenty," Micah was a bit on the defense.
"Micah, she's twenty four. You a lil baby with nothing to offer."
"That's not true, I have things to offer."
"Like what?"
"Well look at me. She's tall but I'm taller. I've got great music taste. I'm getting an education on a scholar ship and I've got more money from grants and things like that. I, myself, am an offer..." he listed. He then thought about his self worth in a new perspective. "Maybe, I should stop being anything to her."
"What does that mean?"
"Stop being so cold, stop being so nice. Not ignore her, but not stalk her either. Maybe I shouldn't try anything for her. Now that I think about it."
"What are you trying to say Micah?"
"I'm just saying but, what does she have to offer me? Like, I know I'm great, but does she know? She's always been so mean and doesn't even try to make conversation like how's the weather. I don't know, am I ranting?"
"A lil bit."
"Hmm..." Micah looked away. He began to go in deep thought as he pressed his hand on his hip. His hand touched his chin, feeling the small hairs beginning to grow out. "I'm going to confront her with love."
"What?"
"I'm going to tell all the good things about her and then tell her that's exactly why she doesn't deserve me," Micah prompted.
"That's stupid."
"I know."
Micah relieved himself from his grandpa stance and began to walk over to where Kym was talking to another person. He stepped in front of them, listening and then cleared his throat. "May I speak to you?"
Kym's eyes penetrated a whole right through his head. He swallowed with his palms beginning to sweat. He looked her up and down, noticing her dress;how it complemented her skin tone. He cleared his throat to grab back at the confidence he came with.
"What is it?" Kym's voice was hard but also hopeful that this couldn't end up in an argument.
"Lady, lemme tell you... you- you're- it's very potent- accurate- no, it's very um, what's the word? It's very clear that I find you attractive. It's very clear that O have done all the wrong things to get your attention, approach you, or even stop crushing on you dramatically but listen lil lady. I am a great person and I think that you, you're, you are..." he groaned. "Stop staring at me with those eyes." He took her hand and pressed her palm over her face.
"Look, we going on a date and that's it," he blurted our accidentally.
His eyes searched for what just came out his mouth, realizing what he said. "And you can't say no, so like... don't say no. We're meeting up here at three o'clock, okay?"
He removed her hand from her eyes so she could see him. Kym did not seem amused from whatever he was saying. She seemed angry but it ceased once she rolled her eyes.
"Okay."
"That's what I thought- excuse me?"
"I said okay."
