Peter woke, partially blinded by the sunlight streaming in from the open window.
He smiled, sat up and happily strode to the kitchen for breakfast. Lucinda was still in bed, which meant he was able to have a wonderfully quiet meal.
The minutes ticked by and by the time Peter had had his fill, Lucinda was sitting opposite to him.
He put his dishes in the sink and strode around the room before sitting back down.
"So, we won, and we shouldn't be having any problems with that idiot for some time, I hope." Peter muttered the last two words quietly, but loud enough for Lucinda to hear and understand.
"Yes, but I wonder if we will see The Shadow X again?"
"Probably, so we had best be ready, if he comes, we need to be..."
His words were lost as the door was pounded loudly. Peter groaned and opened the door.
A short man with jet blue eyes walked in with a note the same as the one on the wall under the tablet.
Of course, it was no longer there, and the man simply stuck it where the old one had been.
"It was you who put it there!" Peter exclaimed.
The man just gave him a sly smile and left the house.
Peter immediately snatched the note from the wall and read it aloud;
'R.J.Williams = The Shadow X. He is an evil sorcerer who will stop at nothing to take over the whole of dragon kind, diminishing it in the depths of death itself. Do not listen to anything he says.'
Peter looked at it and burst out laughing, for everything that was there, they had worked out by themselves.
He filed it away in his cabinet and continued to work for the day, in and out of the house.
His work came to an end when another series of knocks came from the door. He didn't move an inch. The knocking continued: rap, rap, rap, rap. Rap, rap, rap, rap. Rap, rap...
He began to dose off slightly before becoming aware of a – faint, but definitely there – source of magic. A small click broke the sudden silence and the door began to slowly open...
