My heart was pounding. 'How was this possible?' I thought to myself. Honestly, what are the odds? I knew Eleanor and Louis were the queens of Starbucks, but I would never think that THIS would happen! Don't start hyperventalating, Ali. Calm down. Don't fangirl. You'll scare them right out. The adreanaline rush I was getting was screaming at me to just run up to them and ask for a picture and autograph from them, but there was this part of me that said, 'Stay calm, if you do, something good will come out of this.'. I obviously want their attention, but I want it to be subtle. After thinking for a moment that felt like hours, I came up with an idea; I'll play 'Moments'! Duh. Why didn't I think of that earlier?
With trembling fingers, I started the song with quiet singing since I was trembling with nerves.
"Shut the door, turn the lights off, I wanna be with you, I wanna feel your love."
I hadn't quite caught the attention of them yet, I was probably too quiet. They have to be able to hear me. With a more courageous, powerful voice. I managed to get out the chorus without my voice cracking. So far, so good.
Louis' and Eleanor's heads turned around as they heard the very familiar lines. Suddenly self-concisous, I bowed my head and could feel my face turn a scarlet red. Footsteps drew near and a red pair of Toms and Prada heels were in front of me.
"Hands are silent, voice is numb, try to scream out my lungs it makes this harder." Louis joined in.
I paused, unsure of what to do. I looked up in amazement at the fact that Louis William Tomlinson had just sung his infamous line, "Harder," right in front of my face. He nudged his head as if to say, "Keep going!" We both harmonized well for the rest of the song as Eleanor looked on contently, as if this was no big deal. Good Lord she is goddamn lucky. His ice-blue eyes outlined with long, thick lashes seemed to burn through my soul. His perfectly tousled hair was driving me crazy. I kinda have a hair fetish and wanted to just touch it. It looked so soft. When we finished, we smiled and Eleanor went to get a coffee. All of a sudden, I felt depressed. Was that it? Will they just walk away like that was nothing? That was certainly not nothing.
Louis looked at me as if he was having an argument within him. I wonder what he was thinking. Minutes seemed to pass like hours. How long would this last? To break the silence, I mumbled a very timid, "Hello."
"Why hello there!" he excitedly replied.
"Babe? The usual?" Eleanor asked her boyfriend; Louis nodded in agreement.
Then, he walked away. Just like that. Poof. Gone. I felt like a part of me had just left. Sure, I only met him for like about two minutes but he was one of the biggest inspirations in my life! What was I supposed to feel? Glad? HAHA. NO. I was crushed. Whispers were exchanged between the two as Eleanor stared at me, as if to study every inch of me. She smiled, nodded, and Louis walked over to me.
"So, what's your name?" he questioned.
"Ali. Ali Roberts." I quickly stated.
"Do you live around here?"
"Yes! I live just a few blocks down from here." I answered.
"Is this all that you do?"
"So far? Yes. I just turned sixteen so I wanted to start looking for one."
"Interesting." he replied almost accusingly.
"Why?" I nervously wondered.
"I just want to know more about you, silly!" he teased.
"Well, what do you want to know?"
"EVERYTHING."
"Louis, darling, don't scare her." Eleanor winked.
"Sorry babe, I'm just curious!" He giddily retorted.
They are so in love. Please. They should go get married. I'll kidnap them and pay them if I have to.
"Well..." I interrupted, "A few things about me: I play guitar, want to be a singer or actress or just entertain, I eat almost every waking minute, I adore music; I wouldn't be able to live without it, single, love traveling and shopping, and oh gosh I could go on forever but I don't want to keep you waiting." I rambled.
"No! It's okay! We wanted to know more about you!" Louis answered, soaking all the new information in.
"May I ask why?"
"You'll see." he winked.
Frustrated and confused, I turned to Eleanor, who was smiling as if she won the lottery.
"Can you tell me?"
"NOPE!" she teasingly replied.
"This isn't fair."
"Life isn't fair." Louis cheekily stated. With my mouth gaping open at his boldness, he stood up, handed me his number and told me with a wink, "There's someone we'd LOVE for you to meet, accentuating the love. As they strutted out of the shop, he turned around and said, "Babe, you'll catch flies in your mouth if you keep it open like that." And with that, he walked away.
