Hey Mr. X

Life as a doctor was simple enough: wake up, go to work, take advantage of the five-minute break to eat, continue working, try to sleep, and return to the beginning. Or at least, that's how it was for Seokjin, who is a local doctor very dedicated to his job. He likes to help everyone else, knowing that in one way or the other, he's helping them lead their lives.

It's a busy afternoon today: the patient on the third floor refuses to eat and the one on the fourth eats more than he should. Seokjin knows it's not his job, but even so, he heads there and tries to convince the patients to do what's asked of them, the result: success, almost. Sir Yang has accepted to eat only the soup and Sir Kim said he won't eat dessert only for this day, either way, it's a step forward. As he walks back to the emergency room, the black-haired man stumbles upon Dr. Jung, an intern that had joined the family not too long ago. 

"Hoseok. Are you alright? You look pale..." Jin asks, halting the other one in his steps.

The brunette barely just realizes that they're talking to him, shakes his head, and blinks several times as he stammers an "ah?" that manages to get a faint laugh from Jin. Judging by what time it is, the elder guesses that Hoseok has barely arrived to start his shift. The young man doesn't live in the interns' residence with everyone else; he always arrives in his own car, half an hour before his schedule starts and always says that it's to have the whole day.

"You won't believe what just happened to me..." Hoseok begins rubbing his arms. "I shit myself from fear, I swear."

"The Boss* finally caught you with nurse Kim," Jin tries in a teasing tone, in exchange receiving a hard change of expression of the lips and furrowed brows.

Doctor Kim**, known as The Boss, is a powerful woman with a hard character that doesn't fear anything. She's dealt with everything from lacerations to dislocations, even on operations that were very complicated in her area. The woman is a specialist in cardiothoracic surgery and more than once had she stood in front of death as if saying: "You can't fuck with me, I have 10 years of experience, bitch." The woman is also nurse Kim Taehyung's mother, Hoseok's boyfriend, but she doesn't know that last part—and don't let her know Taehyung often says.

"No, it wasn't that... I was on my way to the hospital and halfway on the way, I almost run over some guy—I swear he threw himself over!" The brunette relates, making use of all the factions of his face. "The thing is I offer to bring him to the hospital just in case and he tells me: "That's where I'm headed!" So I bring him. We calmly talk about the weather on the way, about yesterday's game and things like that and when we arrive, he asks me: "Does this hospital have good psychiatrists? I just stabbed my brother-in-law", my soul fell to my feet, I swear!"

Jin had nothing else but to laugh in front of his friend, reminding him of the simple rules to give people a ride: 1) Only if there are fifteen people in the car and 2) That the person they're giving a ride either be injured, short, or one-handed. Or, even better, if they're injured, short, and one-handed. While Hoseok reproaches him about his mockery, complaining about how bad a partner he is, the two are intercepted by The Boss, who looks at them with a bad face. And that's how Jin also has his soul at his feet.

"Alright, ladies. Why are you here gossiping and not in the emergency room where you're needed?" The woman asks, and they don't give a response. They only bow and walk away towards the said room.

"Fuck, how scary..." Hoseok murmurs.

"Luckily she's your mother-in-law and not mine."

Jin leaves the younger one with a mask of terror tattooed on his face before leaving to take care of a teenager who arrives at the room being carried by two others. The boys have on helmets and other safety gear that makes Kim guess he's been injured by doing some type of physical activity: biking or skates.
