scenery(an interlude)

Yohan sat at the park bench near his apartment, sipping on a hot green tea. Kids played all around the park as their parents watched. People walked their dogs, and couples wearing cringy matching clothing sat on the grass watching the beautiful sunset. Though the view is beautiful, all he can think about is the massive pile of work he has back at home.

"Nice day today, isn't it?" A familiar voice asked.

Yohan chuckled. "A great day to stress over deadlines."

Namjoon joined him on the bench. "Tell me about it."

Yohan handed him a cup of tea, to Namjoon's surprise.

"Oh, you didn't have to."

"You got me out of there. You deserve it."

Namjoon took the tea.

"Sounds like we both needed the break."

"Oh? Is it comeback season?"

"Close enough to it. Filming, last minute dance tuneup, lining up promotion in the States-"

Namjoon sighs and takes another sip of his tea.

"Sounds like your having fun," Yohan says with a smirk.

"And how have you been doing? Jungkook doesn't tell us much about you."

"Jungkook doesn't know much about me either recently. We haven't time to see each other for a while. It's pretty..."

Yohan stares at his cup.

"Lonely?" Namjoon supplies.

Yohan doesn't want to admit that he's right, so he takes another drink of his tea.

"You two are exactly the same," Namjoon says. "No wonder you two are dating."

"We're not dating," Yohan replies.

Yohan can feel Namjoon looking at him.

"We're not," he says again, less convincingly.

Namjoon chuckles.

"Sure fooled me."

Again, Yohan had nothing to say.

Namjoon continues anyway.

"At least you two are on the same page I guess. Jungkook is completely clueless too. You aren't hurting him."

Namjoon turns to Yohan.

"You know I'll kill you if you hurt him, right?"

Yohan smiles.

"You never let me forget it."

Suddenly, Namjoon's phone rings. He answers it, and is met with frantic yelling. He sighed and stood up.

"Have to go. Yoongi's locked himself in his studio for days again."

He looked back out to the sky.

"The view really is great today."

Yohan nodded.

"Yeah, it is. Good luck with the comeback."

Namjoon nodded and left Yohan alone to his thoughts.

He didn't see the text Yohan got afterward. He was unaware of the choice Yohan would have to make.
