Dyll made it to the top first. He helped Amie up. I heard a scream from inside the tower.
"What's wrong?" I called up while still struggling to hold on.
"Iris, is that you?" Amie said. Dyll leaned back out the window to pull me up. When I saw him I lost my balance and slipped.
"Agh!" I screamed. Dyll was holding onto me. Amie leaned out the window to and grabbed me. With a team effort they got me inside. Dyll pulled me into a close hug.
"Shhh..." he said, "I've got you now." I looked up. There was another girl standing there.
"Iris?" I asked. She looked up.
"How do you know my name?" She said then looked at Amie. "You as well. How?"
I stood up. "My name is Clarice Shereffa. Princess Clarice Shereffa." Her eyes lit up.
"Sis?" She said. "Clary!" She ran and hugged me tight.
"Sis." I mumbled. It'd been along time since I'd heard that. "Iris." We stood there hugging for a few minutes before Amie interrupted.
"We should probably go now." I nodded.
"Cmon!" I said excitedly.
Dyll reached into his backpack and grabbed a rope. He tied it to to the table leg and put all sorts of things on the table. He pulled as hard as he could. Nothing happened. He motions for us to join him. All four of us were pulling as hard as we could on the table leg and nothing happened.
"I think it's good bro." Amie said. Iris stopped in her tracks.
"Who are they?" She whispered to me.
"Amie is my best friend, and Dyll is her brother." I said. "They are the captain of the army's kids."
"Oh." She says in realization. "I missed out on so much of my life..." She quivers. I put my arm around her.
"Don't worry!" I cheerfully say. "We'll go home and then you can catch up on everything!" She grins and nods.
Amie waves us over. "The rope is ready!" She says. We run over and look at it. It went all the way to the ground. Dyll was already at the bottom.
"It works!" He calls up. I nudge Iris to go down next. She looks very wary of jumping out of the tower, but she steps onto the windowsill, grabs the rope and jumps. Dyll puts his arms out to catch her, but she refuses and lands herself. Amie jumps next. Right when I'm going to jump I her a "Poof" and a cloud of smoke.
"Now, Iris, don't leave dear Witchie." I gasp and jump without looking back. As soon as I hit the ground I scream,
"RUN!!" As loud as possible. And even though many people won't listen to me, they do.
