Tara's pov**
I saw Darren sit down at a table after I took the 'cops' their drinks. I went to ask what he wanted. "Are you drinking or thinking?"
"A beer please."
"Coming right up." I returned shortly with his beer. Then I return to the bar. "Vic, who do you recommend to perform a wedding ceremony?"
"Well honey, I can do it. Only if I like the couple getting married."
"Well hell, you wouldn't want to perform this one. Its just Ash and I. I don't exactly know when or where yet."
"Babygirl, I will be honored to marry you two. Any time, any where, you decide. On one condition."
"What's that?"
"You call me dad from now on."
"Thank you dad!" I hugged him. "But won't the boys get upset that I call you dad and they call you Vic?"
"No, Lana calls me dad too. The boys were around when the crew always called me Vic. So they just picked it up. We never corrected them."
"Alright as long as they don't get upset, I'm good.''
"Then I'll perform the ceremony. With pleasure." He pulled two more drafts and I took them to Benny and Tommy. The 'cops' didn't want a refill, but Darren did. I took it to him.
"Can we talk for a minute Tara?" I nodded, but didn't sit down. "How did you find out that George was your father?"
"He went to hide out as usual. Vic went to find him. After a few minutes I went to see what the hold up was. I heard Vic tell him that he was a sick bastard for having child porn on his laptop and that he was fired. George told him that he would take his daughter with him if he left. Vic asked who his daughter was and he said my name. A few minutes later they came back and I confronted him. We found a video of me and Slasher having sex in my house. The most disturbing was the sexual attack of a little girl about ten years old." I paused to keep myself from crying again. "If I ever see him again, I'll castrate him myself before I kill him. All I keep wondering is if he did that to me. Why else would my mom keep me away from my father? She was only fifteen when I was born. Just a child herself."
He seemed to think about that for a moment. Then nodded. "I believe you. Just know that the man that you're describing is totally different from the man that I grew up knowing. Its hard to understand the two separate lives of one man."
"You know him as a loving daddy. I know him as a lazy child molester. You know him as a man. I know him as a monster. But they are the same man."
"Can we be friends Tara?"
"If you're finished accusing me and my family. You see, Slasher and I are getting married and Gina and Vic, have always treated me with utmost respect. Griffin took care of me after I got out of the hospital. They're my family."
"Its good to have family."
"It is. Now I need to check on the other customers.''
"Here's my number. If you want to talk or hang out."
I took the napkin that he wrote on and left his table. I put it on top of my bag.
"Benny, Tommy, do you need a refill?" They nodded. "Gentlemen, can I get you a refill?"
"No, we're through. We were waiting on George. It seems like he's a no-show. You know where we can find him?" The Spanish looking one said.
"He no longer works here."
"Really? You know where he lives?" This from the blonde.
"Nope. I was never chatty with George. If you'll leave your name and number, I'll make sure he gets it if he comes back in.''
