CHAPTER TWO: CLASS 1-A LEARNS ABOUT THE TRANSFER TOURNAMENT.

"T-Transfer Tournament?!"Class 1-A asked in unison, confused by the title. 

All the time of being in U.A High, they have heard of many tournaments and tests but never have they heard about a tournament for transfer students. U.A High never really showed to have anything of the sort. Class 1-A stared at Aizawa Shota as he sighed,"Yes, the Transfer Tournament. Its basically when U.A High gives other teenagers a chance to be in the Hero Course, mostly in Class 1-A. But only 20 can enter the tournament. And they all have had to pass the written exam, which has already happened. Now it is time for them to do the physical exam, which is facing the students in Class 1-A in a tournament."he explained. 

Iida Tenya, who seemed to be the most confused, raised his hand straight up,"Aizawa-sensei! Why haven't we heard of this before?! Is this a new concept?!"he asked. 

Aizawa, unfazed, stared at Iida,"No, this isn't a new concept. we just don't do it as much as we'd like to. We've done a few tournaments in the past, each with the same concept of  outside transfers against the Class 1-A."he then turned his focus to the rest of the class,"Because of how rare we do it the Transfer Tournament is nothing like the Sports Festival. It is not as famous, and you wouldn't be recognized by anyone but your fellow schoolmates and the transfer you are up against." he explained further, "And Class 1-A is the only one participating in the tournament, but the rest of U.A High will indeed be watching."he said. 

"Only four transfers will officially be accepted into Class 1-A."he continued, leaning back on the wall, crossing his arms and closing his eyes suddenly,"Base on both the written exam and the physical one, that is how the Principal and the rest of the teachers are going to figure out who is going to be accepted."he said. 

Kirishima Eijirou raised his hand,"What exactly are we doing in the Transfer Tournament? Are we competing in sports are something?"he asked. Aizawa opened his eyes again,"No. You are going to fight them. Physically."he replied. 

"Fight them...?"asked Bakugo Katsuki, a dangerous smirk on his face.

"Fight them...?"asked Midoriya Izuku, timidly and softly. 

"Fight them."Aizawa confirmed,"The Transfer Tournament is a battle exam, where they have to fight an actual being more experienced than they are and test the limits and beyond of what they can do. And under the pressure of so many people from the school they are about to enter in."he elucidated. "Each of you will be set up with one competitor out of the 20 who passed the written exam. You will face them in that sense."he said. Momo Yaoyorozu raised her hand,"How will we know if we win or lose? Is there going to be a disadvantage?"she asked. 

"We will explain when it begins, there will be a disadvantage to decide who wins or loses."he said,"But that doesn't really matter. Because we are not judging by who wins or loses at this point, at least, not exactly."he added, in which caused the class to stare at him in confusion. "They will pass on how well they fight and use their heads during a tough battle. They will have to figure out certain ways to get out of a bad situation. And they will have to use their abilities as best as they can."he explained,"So the battles are technically not based on winning or losing, but on how you react and fight."he added. 

The class again began to murmur, the whispers and mumbling were either ones of excitement or of confusion. Midoriya fumbled with his fingers, his heart beating a bit in the excitement of the idea of fighting again, and in front of the whole school. Though it wasn't as important as the Sports Festival, it still was important to them as a class. They were going to fight outsiders their age, with unknown quirks and mind-sets. 

And they were going to welcome them as new classmates.

The day went by faster than expected, and before Midoriya knew it, it was time for class to be over. Aizawa had explained everything to them about the Transfer Tournament. He began to walk out of the class, but before he took a single step out of the door, he turned to the class and said,"Remember that the Tournament is tomorrow. Do not be late or absent from it."he said, with that, he turned; he walked out of the classroom and shut the door. 

As if being released from a huge load of pressure, the students finally began to talk to one another again in excitement of the confirmation that new students were coming into Class 1-A. "A tournament! Can you believe it?"asked Kaminari Denki, grinning from ear to ear,"We're gonna get to show off in front of the new kids! And even face one of 'em!"he said, very energetic. Jirou Kyoka gave him a small smirk,"I think you'll get a lot of attention Kaminari-kun. Since you always become an idiot after you use your quirk too much."she teased.

"You're so mean, Jirou-san! And I've improved a lot since then, so I won't turn into an idiot after, okay?!"he defended himself, frowning. 

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say."says Jirou, turning to talk to Momo about what they think about the Transfer Tournament, which they left the poor defensive electric boy to sulk by himself. 

Midoriya got his things together, standing up from his desk, and almost instantly his two friends rushed over to his desk. "Midoriya-san! A tournament! A tournament!"said Iida, moving his hands around crazily. Midoriya smiled, beaming as Kirishima once was,"Yeah! I'm excited!"he said. Uraraka Ochako spoke up,"Me too! Who do you think we will face? Someone with an earth quirk? A wood quirk? Or maybe someone with a water quirk? Ooh, what about a music quirk? Or a dog quirk?!"she asked, her face seeming to light up every time she mentioned a quirk possibility. 

Midoriya grinned,"Who knows! There might be some really strong quirks there!"he said, very high-spirited. Kirishima, overhearing their conversation, walked over to them,"Heck yeah there's gonna be! I'm so ready for this, aren't you?"he asked them. All three nodded,"Yeah!"they smiled together, feeling so ecstatic about the tournament and its purpose. 

Kaminari joined in, smiling as he said,"Yeah! And we're gonna get some new classmates!"he exclaimed. Kirishima grinned,"Yeah, its gonna be awesome!"he agreed. 

"I hope we get some new girls in our class! We've been needing some!"said Kaminari. 

"Oh! Yeah! That would be nice!"agreed Kirishima. 

"Some new friends to talk and compete with!"said Uraraka. 

As they continued to shout and exclaim in excitement, Midoriya's mind trailed off. He thought about how the Transfer Tournament would turn out. He wondered who he was up against and if he was able to beat them. His quirk was growing stronger, and it would be a perfect time to try it out. He wondered how the new students would act. He wondered if they would be as cocky as Bakugo or as sweet as Uraraka. He didn't know. But he knew he was to face them in the Transfer Tournament. 

And the Transfer Tournament was tomorrow.
