The boy spots the king."You're late!"Said the boy.

"I apologize.I was busy."The king chuckled nervously, "Besides.I've brought a game for us to play."

"Game?What game did you bring?"The small boy jumped off the rock he was sitting on and ran to the king.

"Oh.Have you ever heard of chess?"The king questioned.

"Oh!Chess?Yes, I have!I have to let you know that I'm one of the best players in my village!"Midoriya patted his own back.(metaphorically)

"Oh?Really?That sounds like a fun challenge to me.Would you like to play?"Todoroki asked.

"Oh.Sure!"The child smiled, "Where are we going to set the field?"

"Over there."The king pointed next to the rock."It has good shading and just enough light so we can see the playing field and the pieces."

"Oh!That's suuupppeerrr smart!"The boy skipped to the rock.

I'm the middle of skipping, the boy tripped on a rock and almost fell.

"H-Huh?"The boy was surprised.Why didn't his face smash into the ground?

He looked behind him to see a worried Todoroki.
"Sho...What's wrong?"He asked.

"You almost fell, that's what?Are you hurt?Are you okay?"The king was frantic.He didn't want his only friend to get hurt

"I'm fine, thank you."Midoriya said, as Todoroki placed his stance straight lay again.

"Good.That's great.I don't want you hurting yourself or anybody hurting you, okay?"Todoroki sighed, standing up and placing the board next to the rock."Don't run.Walk here."

"Okay."Midoriya walked to the rock.
He sat in front of the elder male and chose the white side of the field.

"Oh.Then I will be the black part."The king said, sitting down and counting until the start of the game.

"3....."
"2....."
"1....."

Todoroki stood surprised.This child beat him?This mere child?How?

Todoroki memorizes the child's strategies.Strategies.He underestimated the child and forgot that even children could be brilliant strategists.

"You were not lying when you said you were one of the better players.."The king said.

"You didn't believe me?I would never lie to my best friend!How could you even think that I would!"The boy pouted.

This made Todoroki guilty.That's right.Why didn't he believe his own friend?
The king looked down, with a shamed face.

Midoriya noticed and immediately moved his hands, "N-No!I was joking!Dont look so shameful."

"You were joking..?"The king asked.

"Yes!I was!I would never be sad or mad at my best friends for no reason."The boy sighed, hugging the kings legs.

Warm...Soft..Were the kings first thoughts.

The boy was unbelievably adorable.He was kind, innocent, pure.Human.
Things that he was not.

The king hugs the child back.
"I promise I'll never hurt you or let anybody hurt you."

"I promise as well."The child smiles back.

They exchange hugs and leave."Have a wonderful rest of the day!"The boy smiles.
