"hey, baby, i'm home," namjoon called out as he shut the door behind him, walking in and wondering where his boyfriend was when he received no reply. usually, taehyung would've run out of the room and right into namjoon's arms but nothing happened that day.
he knew that taehyung wasn't working today because if he had a photoshoot or something, he would've told namjoon. "taehyung, baby, you home?"
he could hear soft sounds coming from their bedroom but he wasn't close enough to hear what it was. he walked down the hall to their room and pushed the door open, gasping in shock at what he saw.
"taehyung?"
"d-daddy."
namjoon rushed over to his side immediately and cradled the younger man's face in his large hands, using his thumbs to brush the tears on taehyung's face away. "oh, baby boy, what happened?"
taehyung pushed himself up and crawled into namjoon's lap, curling himself around the man by wrapping his arms around joon's chest and his legs around his waist. "daddy, they're so mean." he sniffled, fresh tears rolling down his face as he buried it in namjoon's strong chest, inhaling his boyfriend's comforting scent.
namjoon spotted taehyung's phone lying on the bed and immediately picked it up, unlocking it with his fingerprint. the phone opened up to his instagram direct messages and, god, the words that he picked up were horrific.
death threats, slurs, hate speech. his grip around the phone tightened as he saw the amount of hate he was getting. taehyung had even opened a few of them and that upset namjoon even more.
"why, baby boy? why're they saying such mean things?"
"they think i cheated on you, daddy. i—i didn't, i didn't. i love you, i love you so much, daddy, i'd never cheat on you or lie to you. please believe me, daddy. i love you so, so, so much."
"of course i believe you," namjoon said immediately, stroking taehyung's back slowly, "why do they think that, sweetheart?"
"b-because i was out with k-kookie and—and i called him my h-honey boy and they think that i betrayed you for him and it hurts." taehyung's tears had come to a stop thanks to namjoon's comfort. he wasn't crying in the first place because of the hate, but because he was so scared that he would lose namjoon if the man found out, if the man believed it. "how could i ever betray you?"
"hey, baby, i know you'd never do that to me, okay? i trust you, taehyung, i trust you and i love you." namjoon slowly pried taehyung away from his body so that he could look into his boyfriend's eyes. he cupped his face gently and scanned his eyes before leaning forward and pressing a kiss to the boy's lips. he kissed him slowly and passionately to show him how true his words were — he did trust taehyung and he loved him with all of his heart.

What about this whole scandal
If there's one thing Tae and I have learned from coming out as a couple when we're both famous is that you can't let what people say get to you. There's always gonna be people out there who don't approve of what you do but it doesn't matter
