"I'm sorry for assuming that you cheated on me. I mean, it's not like one day you just stop replying to my messages and disappear off the face of the earth and then I see you posting about a guy who happens to be your ex who you were in love with. I'm so stupid for making that assumption, Jimin, please do forgive me?" Yoongi said monotonously, as if poorly reading lines off of a script.

"I know, what I did was stupid, okay?" Jimin was desperate for Yoongi to listen to him. "But—But."

"Jimin, do you even have a reasonable explanation for what you did instead of just trying to convince me that you didn't cheat on me? Fine, you didn't cheat on me, but that doesn't mean you didn't ignore me, and everyone else, and make me feel like absolute shit about myself."

"I don't. . . I don't have an explanation, Yoongi, but, please, just—just give me another chance. I know I messed up, I know—"

"I think we're done here, Jimin."

"Yoongi, please," Jimin begged, grabbing onto Yoongi's wrist in deep desperation. His eyes were filled with tears and even though the sight made Yoongi's heart ache, he couldn't be there any longer.

"Jimin. . . Let go," Yoongi said in the same desperate tone that Jimin had used.

"I can't. . ." Jimin cried, pulling Yoongi even closer, "If I let go then I'm gonna lose you forever, and I don't think I could bare that, hyung. I can't lose you. Please."

Yoongi closed his eyes. "You—You won't lose me."

"Don't lie to me, God, please don't lie to me. I don't think I could bare you telling me that you'll stay and then leaving me. If you're gonna leave me, if you hate me, please just tell me. It hurts so much already, hyung, just—just have mercy on me."

It hurt the elder, listening to Jimin's quiet sobs and the way he tried to hold it back. Yoongi wanted nothing but to wrap his arms around the younger and hold him tightly until he felt secure again.

"I'm sorry—I'm so, so sorry," cried Jimin, letting go of Yoongi's wrist and covering his face with his hands.

"Jimin, I'm not leaving. I don't hate you. I love you, I love you so much and that's why I need you to give me some time and space. Just. . . Let me think this all over, okay?"

Jimin nodded, not looking at the older.

"Can you answer me one thing though?" once again, Jimin nodded at Yoongi's question. "If Jongin didn't leave, would you even be here right now?"

Jimin said nothing but Yoongi got his answer.
