I woke up drowsy & unaware of the giant dragon watching me. All I could make out was the nest I was born in. I figured since I was born there, I would die there. I started to crawl towards it. Suddenly I saw the huge dragon at the back of my cave watching me. I decided to keep crawling towards my nest. When I got to the edge, I struggled to climb in. finally, when I was in my nest, I curled up into a ball-like shape & relaxed.

I noticed this seemed to confuse the large dragon (I could barely see its features). I started to wonder why it brought me to my home, instead of its home. It got up & started towards me slowly. I flinched, then relaxed because I realized it wasn't hunger in its eyes, but concern. I was even more surprised when it laid down & curled around the nest (my nest).

It said, "Good night my little hatchling. I'm sorry I ever left you." It hit me! She was my mother! I say mother because she spoke in a feminine voice. I looked back, stunned, & she just smiled & closed her eyes.

In the morning, I woke up really late, later than usual. Still feeling half dead, but happy that I found my mother. My groggy face was greeted by a wide eyed, worried, mother dragon. She was almost teary eyed. I asked, "what's wrong?" she said, "I didn't think you would make it... but these tears are spilled with joy."

After a long pause, she hesitantly asked, "Who did this to you & what happened?" So, I told her what had happened & that I don't know their names, but I knew what they looked like. She explained that if I could, at night, get them to follow me up into the sky; she would be able to to kill them in mid-air & then drop their bodies to the ground, all without seeing us. I was a little grossed out, but agreed to try. She said it would make others infer that I was the one who killed them. That I got, as you might say, payback.

Three years passed. I had fully healed in two, but I needed a year to gain confidence. I decided to go through with our plan. That night, I walked somewhat quickly towards a common hangout for the ones who attacked me. I slowed as I could see the first dragon. By the time I could actually see the gathering, other dragons already began to look at me strangely. They looked confused, as if I were a ghost (but I was covered in scars).

I kept walking until a young hatchling bumped into my leg. "Hi! You wanna play?" said the little dragon. I whispered to him in a hush tone, "No matter what happens tonight, don't take flight. Now go home." The hatchling obeyed & started home.

I continued on. When I got to the ball of dragons, I just stood there until all the dragons stopped & looked towards me. Then I announced, "To my attempted killers... if you wanted to break or kill me, you should have tried harder."

Ten dragons came out to stand about 50 feet in front of me. "I have a proposition for you. If you can catch me, you can kill me." They started towards me. "if I can catch you, I get to kill you." They stopped, looked at each other, then one said, "Good luck!" He said it sarcastically with a chuckle.

They continued toward me until I opened my wings & took flight, hovering over them about 100 feet. This action startled every dragon there. Especially the ten that were playing the game. I repeated, "If you can catch me, you can kill me." Repeating it obviously worked because they all took flight after me. I flew higher & higher. As soon as they were in range & were high enough that no one could see us from the ground, I let out the loudest screech I could.

This seemed to confuse them, but it didn't phase their attack. No one would be able to hear their screams to come.
