I had two hours so I took my time getting up. I slipped one of Theos shirts on over my naked frame and entered our bathroom. Nala, APPROXIMATELY TWO HOURS! MOVE BITCH!! I fell against the counter for support as her voice threw me off balance.
I ran downstairs and collected as much ice as I could and continued back to Theos bathroom. I knelt beside the tub and moved to tip in the ice but, yet again, Nina stopped me again. The biggest bathroom in the pack house was the pack bathroom. I carried the ice to there and tipped it into the running water.
Nina, what do I do now? I asked slowly glancing around the room. Make sure that there are no sharp objects or weapons of any sort, anywhere in here. She said. I searched for anything sharp but didnt really find anything that could be used as a weapon. Nina growled in my head and pushed forward for dominance, without thinking I let her.

Nina moved around the room and pulled out razors and nail clippers. There was almost a bucket of things that could be used as weapons. Are you sure half of those thing could be used as a weapon? I asked her in our mind. She rolled her eyes. Shifting is going to hurt, youd do almost anything to kill yourself. However, hurting yourself while shifting could be damaging. Im going to be preoccupied with shifting in your body without breaking bones. I wont be able to think about what your body is doing. She acknowledged in a subtle manner.
We stripped our clothes and waited for the first pains, sitting on the edge of the tub.

Theos voice rang through the house.
Theo I cried. I hadnt realised that I had started crying until I heard my pathetic voice. I didnt know I was this scared. I thought to Nina and I could feel her smug expression. Im scared to Nala, but the bond is stronger since your wolf has mated with his. We have almost nothing to be frightened of. She thought comfortingly. Almost I linked back.
Pancake? What are you doing? How did you know what to do? Theo asked as he burst through the door. I instinctively covered my body and his face went blank.
Hes mind-linking members of the pack. Nina said in a comforting tone. I nodded in response and hoped to the moon goddess that she was right.
Theo moved to touch my cheek but Nina took control quickly and flinched away. Touching our mate will make the process come sooner. She hissed through her teeth. I flinched at the way she was talking to our mate and tried for control.
It failed miserably.
Dont you want this over and done with? Theo asked Nina. I nodded but Nina didnt. she didnt move. What does Nala think, Nina? Have you consulted with her on this? he asked smirking. I focused all my energy and yelled no in our mind.
Nina furiously shook her head and I forced the word through her lips. No. we said and I smirked victoriously from the back seat.
Theo smiled and kissed our hand. Good girl Pancake. He said looking into our eyes as if desperate to see that Im okay. I would have responded but a pain shot from our hand, up our arm and triggered our heart.
Nina shrunk back and settled in the back of my mind to concentrate, leaving me with the brunt of the pain.
I winced and pressed my hand against my chest. Theo? I asked hopeful, but his face was blank.
After about two minutes of sharp pains in the chest, four female warrior wolves burst through the door in human form. Theo lent me back in the ice water and I screamed.
Suddenly it felt like the front of my chest was being torn in half. I felt my ribs cracking and my fingers breaking. NINA I screamed. Make it better! I yelled desperate for the heat in my chest to relent.
I felt my eyes close and I tried to open them. The darkness was deeper and emptier than usual.
I felt in my mind for Nina but she wasnt there. I reached out for her and tried to link her but nothing happened.
I tried to reach for Theos hand, nothing happened, the only think that told me that this wasnt a dream was the relentless pain of my breaking bones.
