As I waited for Nolan I tried to think of possible reasons for Annabeth to talk to Navi that way. Was it just a little rivalry? But what about, 'your kind'? It doesn't make sense. I thought a bit more until Nolan came back.

"Oi, I've returned," Nolan.

I thought about asking him about the rivalry. But I decided to wait.

"Cool," I replied, apparently sounding a bit off.

"Anything else on your mind?" Nolan asked as he started to set up my sleeping quarters.

Why not ask? I mean, it can't be that bad, right?

"Why did Annabeth yell at Navi and why did Annabeth say 'your kind'?"

Nolan made a crooked smile, "You sure do ask a lot of questions. If you ask any more, I probably won't have any answers left!" he said with a chuckle.

"Back to what you were asking, Navi is a child of a minor god and Annabeth is a child of a major one. Ever since the rule that every child must be claimed at twelve —which doesn't happen all the time— more and more minor demigods were being claimed; which meant that the minor demigod population here started to grow. A lot of the major demigods didn't like that so they started being so hostile toward them to the point where the minors started to stay away from the majors because they felt so threatened," Nolan sighed. "But my cabin thinks it's extremely unfair and wrong. We support the minor and major demigods because, in the end, we are all equal. We're all still demigods stuck in the same situation. A lot of minor demigods have passed through this cabin, one of them was Navi at some point. They aren't any different than the major ones except monsters aren't attracted to them as much. Half the time I think the majors are mean because they're just jealous that they attract more monsters to them than the minors."

He stopped there. Nolan was obviously passionate about this subject. I understand now, major demigods don't like or appreciate minor demigods.

"That's horrible..." I replied.

"Yeah," He sighed.

There was an awkward silence until, eventually, Nolan broke it.

"Dinner should be starting soon if you wanted to look around," Nolan said.

I nodded and followed him outside. After that, we parted ways. I looked at my surroundings. The trees, the plants, the overall happiness of the campers around. I sighed and told myself: "Get used to this, this is where you are right now."

As I walked around, I noticed a lot of the kids were giving me odd looks. I felt very alone and self-conscious here. I stopped at the volleyball court. Only three kids were playing: two girls and a boy. They were all excellent players, the ball never dropped. I kinda just stared until, of course, they noticed. I felt my face burn up.

"Hi," one of the girls smiled. She had red hair and light green eyes, "wanna join?"

"S-Sure..!" I hesitantly said.

I joined and (somehow) did pretty well. I passed it, set it, and spiked it. I was actually starting to have a bit of fun. Eventually, the sun began to set and a horn was blown from somewhere.

"What's that for?" I asked as a bunch of other demigods started walking somewhere.

"It's the signal for dinner. Come on, we'll show you," said the other girl that was playing. I followed them to the dining area. We got there and separated. That seemed to happen a lot here. I looked around for a place to sit when I saw Nolan waving to me. I smiled a bit and sat with him and some others.

"Hey, Chip!" Nolan grinned.

"Hi," I replied quietly.

I looked at everyone else at the table. Some had pointy ears and mischievous look about them and they had some sort of piercing. I started to hope I was in this group. Then I remembered, Navi said I was definitely a minor demigod. Dammit. However, some at the table looked completely different. Some of them looked like kids from other tables and others didn't. There were so many kids in this cabin that they had to put two of the dining tables together and even that was a tight fit.
