"This place is amazing," I whispered to Calum as we stepped out of the hotel lobby.
"There's no place in the world like Sydney." He replied, gazing up toward the sky. The sun was at its highest peak and brightly shined down on us.
"I absolutely cannot believe everyone else is so jet-lagged and tired to roam around the city with us."
"I know. I get why Jinger and Elena are, but the guys don't seem to understand we're home." He sighed as we started walking down the sidewalk, security guards following close behind.
"Did you ever think that maybe to them...Sydney isn't what they consider their home anymore?" I looked over at Calum.
His eyes shifted down to the sidewalk. "I never thought about that."
The following day, I quickly got ready to speak to Calum before the show. Ever since yesterday, he seemed a little bummed.
"Where are you headed off to so quick?" I bumped into Luke in the hallway. "Oh shoot! Sorry, Luke. Is Calum in you all's dressing room?"
His eyes squinted, "Yeah, why?" "I just wanted to have a chat with him before the show."
I started to walk off, but Luke grabbed my wrist. "Try and cheer him up, yeah? He's in a weird mood." "Of course," I paused, "And by the way. I'd make sure and cover that hickey on your neck up before the show."
His face turned bright red, "Don't tell anyone I got a hickey. Please?" I smirked at him. "Tell anyone about what?"
Seconds later, I rounded the corner and knocked on the dressing room door. "Who is it?" A familiar voice asked.
"Not a murderer." Laughter erupted from the room. The door swung open to reveal a shirtless Ashton and Michael quickly putting on his skinny jeans.
My hands flew up to cover my eyes. "Woah, Woah, Woah! Put some clothes on."
Ashton giggled, and there was a slight rustle of fabric. "Okay. You can uncover your eyes now."
I put my hands down and leaned against the doorframe. "Calum here?" Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a head pop up. "Yup. He's right-"
"Here." Calum finished Ashton's sentence.
"Can we chat for a second? Bassist-to-Bassist?" He nodded as Ashton walked to the other side of the room.
"What's up? You okay?" His brown eyes filled with concern. "I'm okay. I just wanted to come to check on you." I ran my hand down his forearm quickly.
"I'm fine. Just been thinking a lot about what you said yesterday." "I didn't mean to upset you..."
He shook his head, "No, you didn't upset me-"
Michael cut Calum's sentence off. "Victoria? Shouldn't you be getting on stage right now?"
My eyes widened as I saw the time on the wall clock. "Holy...Gotta go!" I yelled and took off running.
I quickly stopped and turned around. "Break a leg out there, Cal."
He smiled a genuine, happy smile.
