Percy learned at four. It was a great was to help with his ADHD so his mother took him to Piano lessons when he was young. He never told anyone, slightly embarrassed, and because of that it was a shock when everyone found out. Like when they chose instruments in school everyone was like "Electric Guitar" "Drums" but then Percy just strolls up to the piano and starts thoughtlessly playing Islamey (a really hard song to play) flawlessly and even the teacher is blown away then he looks up like "What?". This is how the seven found out.
The conch horn blew. Percy stood from his spot on his bed and ran to the pavilion. Chiron was standing there with Apollo, back in godly form, next to him. "I have decided that this camp needs music classes! Who aside from my children can play an instrument?" The Athena kids raised their hands, natural flute ability. A few others raised there hands. Percy did too. He scooted closer to Annabeth as people began to look at him weirdly. "You never told me you could play an instrument." "There's a reason for that." "Which is?" "It's embarrassing." "I'm assuming all the Athena kids play flute. So we are covered if we need flute classes. So if you are interested in maybe teaching a music class come join me in the arena." Apollo said, walking over to the arena. Percy stood and walked over. Interestingly enough, it turned out to only be the seven. Frank could play the harp, Annabeth could play the flute, Hazel could play the saxophone, Piper could play the guitar, Leo could play the trumpet, Jason could play the violin, and Percy could play the piano. "Okay one at a time Frank?" Apollo had provided an array of all instruments they might know how to play. Frank walked to the harp and played a few notes before stopping. Everyone clapped. "Hazel?" She walked over and picked up a saxophone and played a riff. People clapped. "Jason?" He grabbed a violin and played well. They clapped. "Annabeth?" She played. They clapped. "Piper?" She played. They clapped. "Leo?" He played. They clapped. "and Percy?" Percy strode over to the piano and guitar section. They must have expected him to grab a guitar because when he sat on the bench they all gasped. He began to play one of the many songs he knew by heart, Islamey. He played flawlessly. Not a note off, not a mishap or miss. Perfection. When he was done no one clapped. They all were gaping at him. Leo's mouth was hanging open. Hazels eyes were bugging out. They all looked at him like he grew two heads and tried to eat glass. "Was it not good?" He asked quietly. His head was down and his voice was fragile. He was embarrassed to stay but it hung in the air. Percy was the best musician out of all of them, easily. but he was insecure. Annabeth ran to him and gave him s hug. "Percy that was amazing." "My gods Percy why didn't you tell us?" "Damn Percy!!!" (Hazel, Piper, and Leo respectively). Suddenly they were showering him with praise and he felt out of his element. "Please don't say anything about this. The piano is something precious to me and I don't share it with many people. Actually, any people. Only me and my mom know. And now you." Percy said, his eyes closed. He was really not wanting people to know about this. "Why? Percy this is great. You not wanting to share is ridiculous. You have a real talent." "It's just it's not the me people know. There's the me that they know, ADHD, hyper, loving, caring, loyal, and kind but there's the personal side not many people see. The snappy, passionate, sensitive, calm, collected, patient side. I only share it with the people I most trust and I don't want to just show the whole camp my personal side." Percy explained. "Fine. I swear on the River Styx I won't tell." Annabeth said. It soon was repeated and they exited. Apollo announced the six new classes and created a sign up sheet. Percy actually wanted to learn guitar too, so he went to the sign up sheets. He was furious to see there was a Piano Class.
