Hi, my name is Nova Long. I have dark brown hair that ends at my shoulders, unnatural grey eyes, hazelnut skin, I'm tall, and I'm bisexual. I go to Lincoln High am pretty much invisible except for my group of four friends, Daniel, Katie, Conner, and Calypso. We are pretty much the losers of the school and we all have different interests, for example, I am into art, Daniel likes football, Katie likes fashion, Conner likes baseball, and Calypso likes gardening. All of us are bullied, but none as much as Calypso. She is relentlesly teased because she refuses to tell anyone about her past. Today, I woke up and put on a pair of grey jeans and a baggy blue t-shirt. I put on some lipstick and a smokey eye. I grabbed my book bag and slipped on some patterened converse. "Bye!" I called to my dad as I walked out the door. I walked to Lincoln High and, on the way, I texted Calypso. Still on for tonight? I asked.
You see, the whole group knows I'm bi and all of them don't like judge me, but only Katie knows about my crush.
Me and Calypso had a study sleepover plans at her house this weekend, because we had a big Greek test on Monday and Calypso is really good, like fluent, in Greek. I was really good too, but we were studying together anyways. I walked to my locker and put in my backpack. I looked for my friends and found them at Calypso's locker. I walked over and said hi to everyone. "Calypso, are we still on for tonight?" I asked, turning my attention to her. She smiled.
"Sorry, no my friends are in taking me to Long Island this weekend, they're picking me up straight from school. But we can Skype!" She replied. I smiled, hiding my disappointment. The bell rang and we all shuffled into our homerooms.
We got there and the loudspeaker came on. "Calypso Nightshade, please come to the office." I looked at her and she shrugged, walking out the door. The bell rang and people began to shuffle out, but I stayed in my seat because I had Greek next. Calypso had it with me, but she was at the office.
The teacher wrote something on the board. I couldn't tell because I had a severe case of dyslexia. Then she asked "How do you say 'I hate you' in Greek?"
I raised my hand. "σε μισώ".
"Correct, Miss Long."

At lunch

I exit the lunch line and meet my friends at our table, way in the back. When I get there, I sit next to Calypso, who had a guy on the other side of her. "Nova, this is Leo Valdez. Leo this is Nova Long. Leo goes to camp with me." She said. The school bully, Sarah Freeman, comes over to our table. I roll my eyes.
"Hey, Nova." She says in a sickly sweet voice.
"What do you want, Freeman." I ask through gritted teeth. She smiles at me.
"Just wanted some info on the new kid. So none of your business, Roman." She replied. At the word Roman, Leo's head snapped up and he looked to his right.
Calypso, who was playing on her brand less phone, said "Yes. Did you look at her eyes?"
Leo nodded. "I'm the new kid. My name is Leo. I have a girlfriend, she is awesome, I wouldn't leave her, Leave Nova alone or else." He said. I smiled gratefully.
Sara smiled. "Feisty. I like." She looked him up and down, taking in his appearance. "Hmmph. Solid 8 1/2. I'll be back for you, cutie." She sashayed away, proud of herself.
"What was that all about?" He asked.
"She rates guys on a scale of one to ten. You are an 8 1/2, therefore she will try to date you. She called Nova Roman because she likes both boys and girls." Katie explained. I looked at my shoes, ready for him to judge me.
"Cool, I have some friends like that, too." He smiled at me. Leo is really nice. He reminds me of my dad. I smiled back.

I waited at the doorway with Calypso, Leo, Katie, Conner and Daniel. I texted my dad, that I wasn't coming home, Calypso was taking me to camp with her. It was called Camp Half-Blood. He told me to tell them Camp Jupiter. I was confused but did it anyway. "Hey, Calypso? My dad just said to tell you Camp Jupiter."
She nodded and a big truck came into the parking lot. I couldn't tell you what it said. Leo started buzzing and Calypso snickered. The truck stopped and the back opened up.
Six teens, about our age, came from the truck. Three couples, very cute. First was an Native American girl with braided brown hair and color-changing eyes, and a blonde boy with bright blue eyes. Second was a younger black girl with brown hair and gold eyes, and a Chinese boy with black hair and brown eyes. Lastly was a blonde girl with my eyes, and a black haired boy with green eyes. Leo pushed me towards the Chinese one.
"She's yours, Frank." Calypso said.
"Guys, this is Piper McLove, (That was her last name that she told people instead of McLean) her boyfriend Jason Grace, Hazel Levesque, her boyfriend Frank Zhang, Annabeth Jackson, her husband Percy Jackson, and her twins Luke and Zoë are in her stomach." I smiled. "Also, I wasn't really straight with you, Leo is my fiancé." My face fell. I looked at Katie and she was sending me sympathetic looks.
"Do I go here?" I asked. Frank nodded. I went in.

A day later, I was claimed by Minerva and treated as an outcast, again. I joined the fifth cohort and bonded with Nico. After a few months, I started dating a daughter of Mars named Alex Johnson. In two years, I became Nova Johnson.
