Jaidynn sit in the car, staring at the huge mansion before her. She didn't want to go inside, she'd rather let her grandmother give her condolences and come back. But they knew the mayor, they knew him all too well. They were here for him, and their parents.

Reluctantly, Jaidynn pulled herself from the car. Grayson followed, standing closely beside her. "Good thing we didn't plan the funerals on the same day." By the looks of it, the whole town and more had come for the Mayors funeral. Jaidynn delivered a blow to Grayson's side immediately with her elbow. He doubled over, coughing as Jaidynn walked away.

It was too soon. Way too soon. Marian drapped an arm around her grandaughter, pulling her close. "Sometimes I wish that boy had his mouth sewed shut." Jaidynn smiles quickly, following her as she walked towards the large building. As they neared, Jaidynn thought of her parents.

Just days ago had they said their final goodbyes as they lowered them into their graves. That was the last time Jaidynn had cried. She'd felt enough tears had been spread, but she still felt that ball in her throat threatening to break if just the right words were said.

The almost orange haired girl spotted Tyler Lockwood greeting people at the front. She remember her and him having their many differences, but none the less found a friend in him. He recognized her instantly, thankful another person he knew came. "Good to see you, Jaidynn." Tyler greeted, accepting the hug she decided to give. It was tight and comforting to both.

"I'm so sorry, about your parents." Tyler spoke first, as he remembered they both had lost parents. She held her breath, the ball in her throat closing up. "Thank you." Jaidynn swallowed, giving Tyler's hand a squeeze before going inside.

Looking around, Jaidynn could see many familiar faces. People from school, adults she remembered seeing during one of the founding families meetings. Thinking of the council made her think of her parents. She frowns, pressing a few fingers to her lips as she walks away from her family.

Jaidynn found the food table and put a piece of cheese in her mouth. The whole town really had come to the mayor's funeral. That's what to expected when someone of his power passes. It did hurt a bit to see that only a quarter of the people here had been at her parents just a few days ago.

"Jaidynn?" She looked up, swallowing quickly, not expecting anyone to approach her. Upon seeing Bonnie Bennett standing with bewildering eyes, Jaidynn gave her a smile, putting her arms around her old friend and squeezed. A hug from her is what she really needed.

Bonnie and her had really connected after her Grams died. Jaidynn was with her every step of the way. She was most heartbroken to leave Bonnie in that state. But moving was for her safety. Bonnie smiled, happy to be in the arms of her friend again.

"I didn't know you were back in town." Jaidynn shrugged. "I was hoping to be in and out. Just leave without anyone knowing." Bonnie's eyes softened, remembering her parents sudden deaths.
