Eric was still in pain because of the wound, so standing up and walking was painful for him. "What's all the things you got from the drop?" Jill asked. Eric, still unsure about trusting her replied. "Jasperald, some syringes and a blueprint." "A blueprint?! On your first drop?! Wow. That's quite amazing." Jill responded.
"I haven't even looked at it yet, didn't really have time to go through everything when that thing tackled me." Eric said  as he shrugged his shoulders. "Using a flare to scare it off huh? Primitive, but effective. Then again, we are pretty much forced to live in a primitive age" Jill continues. "It is survival of the fittest out here. And with your leg jacked up, are you really gonna fit?" "Your clothes looks worse than my leg, what are those anyway?" Eric replied sharply. Jill smiles. "Cocky huh? I like that. These are clothes i made out of plant fibers and animal fur. Ugly? Yeah. But it keeps you warm and it helps when you hunt." "Fair enough. Where are we headed?" Eric asked.
"Well we can set up camp right here if you'd like, tho i wouldn't recommend it to be that close to where an abomination was spotted." Jill replied.
Eric looks confused. "Abomination?"
"Yeah. That thing that jumped you." Jill replied. "We... I call them Abominations."
Eric grows suspicious. "We..?" "It's nothing. Let's get moving, come on. See if you can match your cocky attitude." Jill replied while already starting to move. Eric looks at her for a second before picking up his rucksack and following her. He is constantly looking around so that he doesn't get jumped like that again. They keep going for about a good hour untill Jill stops him. "This looks like a nice place. Let's build here." The area was semi open, good spacing, trees blocking the vision making it easier to hide the shelter. "You have any idea of how to do this?" Jill asked. "I have watched a few TV shows about survival.. I know the basics of it." Eric replied. Jill looked at him funny. "Alright, just make sure to pick a good spot and cover it in moss." "Yeah okay" Eric said before he went of looking for sticks that were of size. About 2 hours pass and the shelters are done. Jill's shelter is stacked against a fallen tree with moss covering all but the entrance, making it look like a little hill. Eric's shelter looked like it was about to collapse any minute. "Nice one! I'll be surprised if you make it til tomorrow in that masterpiece!" Jill said while laughing at him. Eric had a defeated look on his face because he realized it was true. "Well, lucky for you i figured something like this would happen. I made mine extra big so that you'd fit." She said. "But you gotta fix up a campfire before it gets dark. Earn your keep" she continued. "Yeah absolutely. I'm om it" Eric replied. He goes out and gathers sticks and stones, some tinder and alot of firewood. "Alright, you got any source of fire?" Eric replied. Jill looked at him with a grin. "Well we are about to make a source of fire, no?" "How do we do that?" Eric replied.
Jill took up 2 wierd looking stones from her bag. "Flint." She said. "Go ahead, try it!" Eric put together the campfire and the tinder at the bottom as he began to slam a stone on the tinder. Sparks were flying and suddenly the tinder caught the sparks. "Go ahead, blow on it, quickly!" Jill said. Eric proceeds to blow on it and it catches fire. The campfire starts to burn. He quickly throws on more firewood to make it burn stable. "I did it!" Eric happily utters.
Just as then, his stomach begins to growl.
"Ohh... What's edible around here..?" He goes.
"Actually i was huntin earlier and i caught some fish. It's already gutted and ready, so let's cook it." Jill replied. "Wow.. You really know everything around here huh?" Eric said.
"Well.. I've been here for a while, giving me time to learn a thing or two." Jill said while taking out 3 fishes from out of her rucksack. "I caught these down by the river and had just finished cleaning them when i spotted your flare. Now go get three sticks so we can cook these" she said. Eric took three sticks right from his horrible shelter and sure enough, it collapses. Jill starts laughing from behind him.
"Atleast i tried" He said while laughing with her. They hear a plane in the distance. It's a drop. "Should we go get it?" Eric said sharply.
"Calm down cowboy. With your leg, you'll be dead before you reach it." She replied. Eric looked at his leg. He had forgotten all about it in the midst of everything. He was actually not thinking about the situation that he found himself in. "Wow.. I had forgotten all about it." He said. "Plus, that means it's 6pm, which means that darkness is setting in slowly. We have our shelters and our fire ready. We should call it a day" Jill said. "Yeah, you're right". With their bellies full and their shelter intact, nightfall came around. As soon as the moon rises, you can hear awful screams in the distance. "What the hell is that?" Eric said, obviously stressed and uneasy. "That, my friend, is jasperalds." She replied. "Just hope you never run into one at night.." she continued. "Earlier today.. You said 'we' accidentally.. Did you have someone you were with before?" Eric asked. Jill hesitated for a few seconds, looking at him and deciding not to tell him the whole story. "Yeah. We decided to go for a drop at night time, the 12am one. We got caught by two jasperalds. Before you knew it, 4 people became one." She said. "I'm sorry.." he said. "It's okay. We should go to bed soon. Wake up early and go for the morning drop."  She said. "Good idea." Eric replied. They both went to bed, hearing a few screams during the night. Eric was happy he wasn't alone. He don't know how he would've made it without Jill. Those were his last thoughts before he passed out.
