Being in a hospital bed sucks.  It absolutely sucks.  I wasn’t able to get out of bed at all today, but the doctor promised that physical therapy would meet with me the next day to figure out what I needed for when I got home.  I was more than a little anxious to get out of there.  I was getting stir crazy, and I was ready to face this new life head on.

After Melissa and Bianca left, I summoned up the courage to go through the texts and voicemails on my phone.  There were multiple from Aaron, asking where I went, a few from Brett trying to apologize, a few from Audrey trying to apologize, multiple from Melissa trying to reach out to me, and one from Bianca wishing that I have a good rest of my night and not to worry about calling her if I need her.  Them, there was one from Andrea.  A snarky, passive aggressive text saying that she hoped I learned my lesson about messing with her.  I shook my head in disgust and deleted it, wanting nothing to do with her ever again.  I quickly went into my contacts and blocked her phone number before deleting her info.  There.  She was gone.  Well, until I had to go back to school, but I could avoid her there.  She was not going to bring me down anymore.

After the activities of the night, I was able to get some rest, but found myself waking up to a dark room, but the TV was on.  I don’t remember leaving it on.  Sitting up a bit more, I heard an unfamiliar yet feminine chuckle off to the side of me.  Rolling my head over, I saw the outline of a girl siting in the chair beside my bed.  Her feet were propped up on the end of my bed, and she was eating a bag of popcorn.  She let out that laugh again as she intently stared at my television, so I cleared my throat.  She turned her head to face me.  “Oh.”  She said in the most casual tone I had ever heard from a complete stranger.  “You’re up.  Hey.”  She reached into her bag of popcorn and pulled a few pieces out before extending the bag to me in an offer to take some.  I shook my head, so she shrugged and popped the pieces in her mouth before turning her attention to the show that was on.  Incredible.  I reached for the remote and turned the light above my bed on.  Her attention snapped back to me and she quickly pulled her feet off my bed.  “Hey!”  She exclaimed.  “You trying to get me in trouble or something?”

Once my eyes adjusted to the light, I got the chance to really get a good look at this mystery girl.  She was by far the most beautiful girl I have ever seen in my life.  She had to be around my age, but I have never seen anyone that could even compare to her perfect looks.   She had the most beautiful brown waves that I found myself longing to get my fingers into.  Her eyes were big and the color of honey, sitting perfectly above two well defined cheekbones and a nose that many girls in LA would pay big money to have.  Her lips were pink and plump, hiding a set of perfectly white teeth.  I couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect girl if I tried.  Her petite body was wrapped up in a pair of light blue scrubs, the color that the nursing aides wear here, but the shapeless scrubs did nothing to hide her drool worthy body.  If I thought Audrey was perfection, this girl was practically a goddess.  “Um.”  I finally got out.  “Not to be rude or anything, but who are you?”

The girl flashed me a grin that had a profound effect on my heart rate.  “I’m Harper.”  She stated simply before putting her feet back on my bed and turning back to the TV.

“Okay.”  I said slowly, unsure of where to take this next.  “And what are you doing in my room?”

“Watching Botched.  You woke up just in time for the best part.”  She dug her hands into the popcorn bag again.  I turned my attention to the TV and saw it was still on commercials so I didn’t feel bad for disrupting her.
